What a lovely set of spring colors from Arielle over at ColourQ today! Aren’t they fabulous?
Fourth graders in California are required by state law to study the missions. We spent a beautiful day with Eve and a friend of hers touring the Mission in Santa Barbara earlier this month. This is also the mission where the real Karana, from Island of the Blue Dolphins, was taken to after she left the island. In the bottom right-hand picture, the girls are pointing to a plaque marking her grave. They read this book at the beginning of the school year.
Pretty in Pink is one of the colors that is retiring in just one more month. It will live forever in My Digital Studio, but if there is anything else you want in Pretty in Pink, do not delay! Come back tomorrow to see this week’s digital downloads from Stampin’ Up.

What do you get when you combine four great colors from ColourQ and a fun layout from MDS Monday? A fun and fresh scrapbook page, of course!
These bright colors and the big circle made it the perfect layout to show off the yummy cookie cake that Eve requested for her birthday this year.
To make the shadows on the title, I just copied and pasted the words a second time, then changed the colors. I offset them slightly so the title stands out more.

Some great colors from Arielle over at ColourQ today. They make me really miss Creamy Caramel! Good news, though, we have a lovely light gray color coming inJune called Smoky Slate. I’m looking forward to it! And Blushing Bride is coming back, too.
As we burned Eve’s birthday candle down on her 10th birthday, I thought it would be really fun to do a retrospective Scrapbook page with the pictures that I had taken of her and the candle over the years. The only one I couldn’t find was 2011. Maybe I didn’t take one that year? I don’t know. I also don’t have one for her first birthday. We did have the candle then, but she was too little to put next to the flame. I included a super cute picture from her first birthday anyway.
I love watching her change over the years. I’m so glad I started taking these pictures! Now on to the next 10 years. Oy!

Another great set of Spring colors from Arielle over at ColourQ this week! I combined them with the current scrap map challenge over at MyDigitalStudio.net.
I needed three pictures that would go together for this one, and I found some great pictures that we took last summer when we walked along the Freedom Trail in Boston. They are from the three Paul Revere related spots — his house, the statue of him on the horse, and the old North Church.
Although I used greens and purples, I think the diagonal tiling is reminiscent of the bricks that mark the Freedom Trail.

Tuesday means another great set of colors from Arielle over at ColourQ! These great blues are no longer in the current Stampin’ Up line up, but they are still available in My Digital Studio.
I was walking behind my daughter and her friend when they got out of the car the other morning, and I was struck but what a great photo it was, with their matching backpacks, outfits, and instruments. Of course I needed the shot of them looking over their shoulders, too.

Some great St. Patrick’s Day colors from ColourQ today. I paired them with this week’s MDS Monday sketch challenge today, which also includes a subway art component.
I may have said it before, but St. Patrick’s Day is the second biggest holiday at my school, second only to Halloween. The picture below is Eve in second grade with our resident leprechaun.
To create the shamrock background, I used a trick I learned from Alesha Walls. I used a digital stamp of a Lucky Limeade shamrock on a Lucky Limeade background, and then added a drop shadow at 75%. This gives it an embossed look. And yes, I did paste the same shamrock a gazillion times. Thank goodness for copy and paste!

It’s Tuesday, so you know that it is time for another great color challenge from ColourQ! I once again paired it with the fabulous sketch from MDS Mondays.
My school is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. As part of the celebration , Maroon 5 played a benefit concert. (Adam Levine is a graduate of the school). The concert was great fun, and Eve’s first real rock concert. I thought the circles in the background of the page were reminiscent of spotlights, and would work will with the photos.
