Here’s a quick and easy card, thanks to the Big Shot! With the embossed white card stock, it  is simple and elegant. It looks better in real life, but if you click on it to enlarge the photo you can get a better view. I really love the Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive together.

There are some days that I just don’t know how I managed without my Big Shot!

May your layers be many and your frosting be thick

I love this saying. Love, love, love it! I chose this stamp set as one of my Sale-a-bration freebies, and I have to tell you that every time I see this saying it makes me smile! I based the layout of this card on one by Anne Beale. I have to tell you, after so many Valentines it feels great to make birthday cards! (If you can’t see the saying clearly, you can click on the photo for a closer look.)

Stamps: Birthday Bliss, Sanded
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Other: Tempting Turquoise 1/4″  Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Border Punch

The stamp is stamped with Chocolate Chip ink and then colored in with a Tempting Turquoise Stampin’ Write Marker.

As I was planning out cards for last week’s workshop, I came across a fantastic card by Amy Fitzgerald and knew that was the one we had to make! Here is my version of it:

Stamps: With All My Heart
Ink: Real Red, Pretty in Pink
Paper: Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper
Other: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Real Red 5/8″ Satin Ribbon

After the workshop, I still had several packets left that had not been made into cards. I was working on birthday card ideas for the Stampin’ Addicts’ Birthday Blog hop this weekend, and thought I’d see what I could make by changing the stamp set. I think it works pretty well as a birthday card, too, but my theme for the blog hop is “young girl.” This looked to grown up to me.

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes
Ink: Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Yo-Yo Yellow, StazOn Black
Paper: Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper
Other: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Real Red 5/8″ Satin Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

I think I’m going to go back through some more of my “leftovers” and see what other different cards I can make!

P.S. If you want to see more birthday cards, be sure and stop back on this weekend for the Stampin’ Addicts Birthday Blog Hop. Stampin’ Addicts is celebrating their first birthday with a lot of fun activities!

Here is another card that could be used as a Valentine if you would like, but could be used for many other occasions as well. It uses the super cute Love Bandit stamp set. I used the Stampin’ Write Markers to color the parts of the stamp differently, and then colored the squirrel in as well.

Stamps: Love Bandit
Ink: Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Old Olive, Going Grey
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Welcome Neighbor Designer Series Paper Pad
Other: Melon Mambo Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Trim Corner Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch

We made this card at my faculty card making class, and I have to tell you there is a learning curve with these new punches. (A big shout out to Amy who did it perfectly on her second try!) Luckily, Stampin’ Up has come out with a great video to use these punches.

Stamping 411 also has a size guide, showing you what size paper you need to get the punches to come out evenly as well. It takes a little practice, but it is worth it!

I saw this valentine made by Joan and I knew immediately that I had to make one of my own. It is spectacularly gorgeous! I am making it with my faculty card-making class after school today, and I can’t wait! It looks hard, but between the Big Shot and the punches, it comes together very easily.

Stamps: Well Scripted
Ink: Real Red
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Very Vanilla, Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper
Other: Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit, Full Heart Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Big Shot

Isn’t it gorgeous? There is glitter embedded in the paper! I love it!

One of the highlights of the Leadership Convention that I attended earlier this month was a display of fabulous quilts by Jill Olson. She used the Big Shot to easily cut her fabric to make quilts and a variety of other projects with fabric. On the last day of Leadership, Jill was presented with the “Bright Idea” award for her wonderful integration of fabric crafting into her Stampin’ Up business. But it was we demos who won, because Shelli gave each of us our very own quilt square, made with the 5-Point 3-D Star Die. (The points are turned in to make the flowers.) This is one of the quilt squares. (As always, you can click on the pictures to see them bigger.)

This is a brooch that Jill made, and was wearing when she won the award. (I was excited to be sitting right behind her, and she was kind enough to let me take this picture!) It uses the three different scalloped circle dies.

I was also able to take pictures of the booth that Jill Olson had set up to show all of her bright ideas. Here are some of her projects:

Did you know, that if you use the Clear Bigz Dies (which are hollow) you can cut up to EIGHT pieces of fabric at one time? Crazy! That’s why the Big Shot is the quilter’s new best friend! And Sale-a-Bration is the best time to buy one! Contact me for more info, or start shopping today.

P.S. I’m hostessing a fabric samples swap on Stampin’ Addicts and will have even more amazing examples of what you can make with fabric and your Big Shot at the end of February, so stay tuned!

Yesterday I showed you the Baby Carriage cards that I made for the baby shower we had at work a couple weeks ago. Today I will show you the gifts. I used Lauren Meader’s fabulous onesie template and made them each a pack of Thank You notes. I packaged the cards in one of Stampin’ Up’s large cello bags, and made a topper for it out of a top-note die. Here is what the end results looked like:

Here is a close up of what the two cards look like. I stamped the envelopes to match as well.

Stamps: All in the Family, Family Phrases
Ink: Ballet Blue, Rose Red
Paper: Whisper White, Ballet Blue, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red
Other: 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Paper Snips, Top Note Bigz Die, Rich Regal Brads

How stinkin’ cute are they?

We recently had a baby shower for two of the women at work. One is expecting a girl, and the other a boy. I had seen these fabulous baby carriage cards on Lyssa’s blog (she has a tutorial, too), and decided that this would be a perfect time to make them! They were easier to make than I thought they would be. I am so happy with how adorable they came out! Here they are together, individual pictures are below.

Baby Boy Carriage:

Paper: Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Brushed Silver, Bashful Blue Patterns Designer Series Paper Pack
Other: Scallop Circle Bigz Die, Big Shot, Scallop Border Punch, 3/4″ circle punch, 1″ Circle Punch, Small Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Bashful Blue Brads, Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon

Baby Girl Carriage:

Paper: Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Brushed Silver, Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper
Other: Scallop Circle Bigz Die, Big Shot, Eyelet Border Punch, 3/4″ circle punch, 1″ Circle Punch, Small Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Pretty in Pink Brads, Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon

Come back tomorrow to see what I made for their baby shower gifts!

After the season of giving is over, next comes the season of Thank You cards! I put together some easy and elegant Thank You cards using the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper and the Elegant Thank You stamp. (Did you know that you can earn this stamp set for free starting January 5th? More details coming soon!) These cards fit this week’s Color Inspiration over at Stamping 411.

I added a liberal dose of Crushed Curry as well, but they certainly meet the requirements of “bright!” Here are the cards. I quickly whipped up around 30 of these.

Stamps: Elegant Thank You
Ink: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Whisper White, Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper
Other: Scallop Square Punch

Now comes the hard part — actually writing the Thank You notes! I am fortunate to have so many things to be thankful for. I hope you do too!

This week’s challenge on Pals Paper Arts is a theme challenge of Winter Wonderland. I needed to make another gift card holder, so I decided to apply this theme while making it. I love these gift card purses! You can see the first one I made or the originals that inspired me. Here is my Winter Wonderland one:

Stamps: Patterned Pines
Ink: Bashful Blue
Paper: Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Other: Snowfall Printed Window Sheet, Circle Brads (Ice), Bashful Blue Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Top Note Bigz Die, Big Shot, Crop-a-Dile, Velcro

I used the Snowfall Printed Window Sheet over the Night of Navy paper for that great look! Because of this, I took the photo at a slightly odd angle to avoid glare from the flash. A little bit of Velcro keeps it closed. The rhinestone brad in the middle is hard to see, but it is light blue.
