We have some more fabulous Fourth of July colors from ColourQ this week. Check these out:

I was feeling nostalgic, and went all the way back to 2003 and Eve’s first 4th of July for these pictures. I was going to use the Nautical Expedition Designer Series Paper (digital version), but I realized that it was Not Quite Navy instead of Night of Navy.

I try to put things on an angle once in a while. It’s hard, but I do like how it looks. Hope you’ll play along with us at ColourQ this week!

For a delicious end of the year treat, Eve & I baked her teachers some brownies. But we couldn’t just give them brownies, we had to make cute little boxes, too! Here’s a picture of the brownie box close, all tied up in an Early Espresso Satin Ribbon:

Paper: Early Espresso, Pawsitively Prints II Designer Series Paper
Other: Early Espresso Satin Ribbon, Eyelet Border Punch
And here’s what it looked like open, with the brownies inside:

To make the boxes, I basically used this tutorial, but started with a 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ square.
Both that Designer Series Paper and the Early Espresso Satin Ribbon will be discontinued at the end of June, so get them while supplies last!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you moms out there, and especially to my Mom! Seems like there should be more than one day a year that we celebrate moms… I’m in the process of making a scrapbook for my mom of the pictures from her visit to Los Angeles last night. It’s not ready yet, but I know I’ll finish it in May because I want to take advantage of the 30% off printing! I used this week’s Stamping 411 sketch to create the cover.

It was a little tricky converting the card sketch into a scrapbook page, but I’m pretty pleased with how it came out. I downloaded the Beyond the Garden Digital Designer Series Paper specifically so I could include these Daffodil Delight flowers for her!

(Savta means grandma in Hebrew.) Since I knew this wasn’t going to be done in time, I emailed my dad JPGs of a few of the pages, so he could print them out and give them to her. Yet another great thing about My Digital Studio!

You know Stampin’ Up’s Butterfly Punch? And how it works so well with Flight of the Butterfly? Well, there’s another Stampin’ Up set that coordinates with it! And with my great love of stamp sets that coordinate with punches, of course I had to get it! It is called Butterfly Prints, and it has three new butterflies plus this great quote. (You can see the full stamp set at the bottom of this post.) I used this set for Stampin’ Addicts Color Challenge 61 — Elegant Eggplant, Baja Breeze, Pear Pizazz. I have to say, this was a really hard set of colors for me to wrap my mind around. At one point, as I stared & stared at my stamp sets, I felt like beating my head against the wall. But I finally did come up with an idea, and I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out.

Stamps: Butterfly Prints
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Baja Breeze, Pear Pizazz
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Baja Breeze, Pear Pizazz, Whisper White
Other: Butterfly Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Not usual colors for butterflies, but I think it works! Here’s a look at the whole stamp set:

The library assistant here at school needed a card for a baby shower for her niece who is having twin girls. I offered to make her one of the super cute baby carriage cards. I toyed with the idea of making it into a double stroller, but decided to stick with the original design created by Lyssa in the end.

Paper: Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Brushed Silver, Welcome Neighbor Designer Series Paper Pad
Other: Scallop Circle Bigz Die, Big Shot, Eyelet Border Punch, 3/4″ circle punch, 1″ Circle Punch, Small Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Pretty in Pink Brads, Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon
I think it came out super cute! Don’t forget, the Welcome Neighbor Designer Series Paper Pad is only available until the end of March, and it is free with a $50 purchase!

We recently had a baby shower for two of the women at work. One is expecting a girl, and the other a boy. I had seen these fabulous baby carriage cards on Lyssa’s blog (she has a tutorial, too), and decided that this would be a perfect time to make them! They were easier to make than I thought they would be. I am so happy with how adorable they came out! Here they are together, individual pictures are below.

Baby Boy Carriage:

Paper: Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Brushed Silver, Bashful Blue Patterns Designer Series Paper Pack
Other: Scallop Circle Bigz Die, Big Shot, Scallop Border Punch, 3/4″ circle punch, 1″ Circle Punch, Small Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Bashful Blue Brads, Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon
Baby Girl Carriage:

Paper: Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Brushed Silver, Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper
Other: Scallop Circle Bigz Die, Big Shot, Eyelet Border Punch, 3/4″ circle punch, 1″ Circle Punch, Small Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Pretty in Pink Brads, Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon

I mentioned a couple of days ago that the Decor Elements tree I put up also has a matching stamp set. It is a gorgeous tree and comes with some very nice sentiments as well. To make this card, I inked up the leaves with my Kiwi Kiss ink pad, and then colored over the trunk and branches with a Chocolate Chip marker. I used a sponge dauber in Kiwi Kiss around the edges of the white as well.

Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Accessories: Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon, Eyelet Border Punch, Sponge Daubers

Since I don’t celebrate Easter, I don’t have any Easter stamp sets. So how, I wondered, could I make Easter cards for my friends who celebrate? Why by relying on punches, of course! (And thank goodness for the All Holidays stamp set that has the phrase “Easter Wishes” in it.)
I saw this super cute Easter card on Jackie Topa’s blog, and realized that she used the wide oval bunch on the Delicate Dots Sale-a-Bration paper to make the eggs. Hey, I thought, I have both of those! I can make Easter Eggs too! And so I did. We made this card at a workshop in Ashby this week, and will be making it in Santa Monica next week.

Stamps: All Holidays
Ink: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, So Saffron
Paper: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Delicate Dots DSP
Accessories: Wide Oval Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, So Saffron Grosgrain Ribbon (Sale-a-Bration), Sponge daubers
You only have two weeks left to get your free Delicate Dots Paper and Ribbon Bundle! Sale-a-Bration ends on March 31st, so hop on over to my website to place your order and get your freebies!

Wow, Kristina Werner’s color challenge is a tough one today! These are the colors:

My first thought was penguins. Then zebras. But I decided that I’d rather go with classy then goofy. Because really, these colors together are so, so classy. And they were perfect for something I’d been meaning to try, which is matching up two sides of the eyelet border punch. It was a little tricky, but I managed to do it pretty well I think.

Stamps: Together Forever, Lovely Letters
Ink: VersaMark
Paper: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Whisper White
Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, White 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, White Embossing Powder
Why the C? Well, unfortunately the M is just a hair too wide to look good in the circle. So I thought about people I knew who were classy, and would send a classy card. And I thought of someone. And her last name starts with C. Which is perfect, because C is for classy.
