Thank You

I have a quick, fun thank you card for you today. It combines the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch with the colors from the Sunday Stamps Weekly Challenge.

This diagonal card is an great way to use up scraps of beautiful patterned paper! I didn’t even measure it. I just placed it on top of the Whisper White card stock and trimmed of the excess. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend! I’ll be stamping out by the pool tomorrow!

Another lovely sketch from Freshly Made Sketches this week! I like the clean look to this card.

The hardest part was deciding what I wanted to use for the two shapes along the stripe. I decided on butterflies, which would look sweet against a strip of floral paper.

Today is my One Year Scentsy-versary and I’m throwing myself a party! Anyone placing an order through this party will be entered to win three Scentsy bars of her choice. Let me know if you have any questions!

Eve’s birthday party was this past weekend, and she wanted a woodworking themed birthday party. All of the girls had a great time building a painting their own bird houses. As party favors (in addition to the bird houses), they got to take home their hammers and tape measures. Pretty fun idea for a bunch of 4th grade girls! I wanted to make thank you notes for Eve that matched the woodworking theme, but were still girly enough for her, and this is what I came up with. I think they came out pretty cute!

Stamps: Perfect Punches
Ink: Crumb Cake, Melon Mambo
Paper: Melon Mambo, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Other: Melon Mambo Dotted Scallop Ribbon, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Scallop Oval Punch, Wide Oval Punch

Did you know that ALL of the dotted scallop ribbon is retiring? Yep, all of it!! And the Perfect Punches stamp set, too. Get them while you can!

Another bright a fun color challenge from Dynamic Duos this week! Mom absolutely loves yellow (Hi Mom!), so how could I not play along?

I decided it was time to break out the Secret Garden stamp set and the matching framelits. I’ve seen a few other stampers create cards with the oval in the center and the flowers on one end. It is so fun, and easy too, since they work so well together!

Stamps: Secret Garden, Perfectly Penned
Ink: VersaMark, StazOn Jet Black
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Whisper White
Other: Secret Garden Framelits, Ovals Collection Framelits, Vine Street Embossing Folder

I’ll have to make another one for my mom though. This card is heading out to a friend who surprised me with a really large Scentsy order today. It goes nicely with March Scent of the Month, Hello Yellow.

I was a little scared of this week’s sketch from Pals Paper Arts. There were an awful lot of pieces, and nothing was jumping out at me.

Then my mom asked if I could make a thank you card for the neighbor who watched her house while she was out here visiting. Since the neighbor keeps chickens, my mom wanted a card with a chicken. I remembered that I had pinned this punch art chicken, and it all came together from there!

Stamps: Perfectly Penned
Ink: Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Basic Grey
Paper: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper
Other: 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, Owl Punch, Small Heart Punch, Googly Eyes

Doesn’t the Honeycomb Embossing Folder look like chicken wire? I thought it would be perfect for this card!

Nacho Average Challenge posted a sketch yesterday that THEY said was easy, but it looked pretty tricky in its simplicity. But then I had a great idea, and it turns out it was easy after all! And I managed to do it in the Dynamic Duo colors for the week, too! Ha!

To start this card, I looked at my really big stamps. The Tool Shed stamp jumped out at me right away. I realized that I could make a thank you note with it for my husband to send to some of the people who have been supporting his Kickstarter Project. It all came together from there. The gold embossing is a little hard to see on the Soft Suede cardstock, but in real life it looks subtle and elegant.

Ink: Soft Suede, VersaMark
Paper: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake
Other: Apothecary Accents Framelits, Gold Brads

Steve’s Kickstarter Project is at 51% with 11 days to go. He is trying to build a woodworking studio to honor his grandfather’s memory. Can you take 3 1/2 minutes to watch the video? Any help you can give would be amazing. Kickstarter is all or nothing, so every dollar counts. Thanks so much!

I needed to make a bunch of thank you notes, and I wanted them to look nice, but still be able to make them quickly. I came up with a design that I liked and I recreated it in a few different color schemes. They all use paper from the Festival of Prints Pack, which will only be available through January 2.

Hello and welcome to the Stampin’ Addicts Spring Catalog Blog Hop featuring fabulous stamp sets from Stampin’ Up’s new Spring Catalog! You may have just arrived from Mickey’s blog where she featured the fun and versatile That’s the Ticket stamp set, or maybe from Betty’s blog, where she showed us the amazing All Dressed Up bundle. Or maybe you are starting here! In any case, all of the blogs link in a circle, so you will be able to see them all.

I am very excited to be featuring the adorable set, Oh, Whale. The whale is cute, but I love the puns in the sayings! There is also a coordinating Happy Whale Clearlits Die, that you can use with or without the stamp set.

My first project is a Valentine’s Day card that also uses the new More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper.

CIMG1658

Stamps: Oh, Whale
Ink: Pool Party, Primrose Petals
Paper: Pool Party, Primrose Petals, Very Vanilla, More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper
Other: Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon, Window Frames Framelits, Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Festive Paper Piercing Pack

For my second card, I used the new Oval Framelits to make a cute oval card. This would also make a great baby card if you changed the sentiment and used Pretty in Pink and Marina Mist instead of Melon Mambo and Pacific Point. But I have another baby card to show you later on.

CIMG1667

Stamps: Oh, Whale
Ink: Melon Mambo, Pacific Point
Paper: Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Whisper White, Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper
Other: Happy Whale Clearlit Die, Oval Framelits, Pacific Point Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon

For my third project, I cut out the whales with the die, instead of stamping them, so that I could have them facing each other. I used the owl punch to make their eyes, and drew on the mouth.

CIMG1668

Stamps: Oh, Whale
Ink: Pacific Point, Basic Black
Paper: Pacific Point, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper
Other: Happy Whale Clearlit Die, Owl Builder Punch, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch

My final project for today is a Baby Bib card. I made this for a baby shower at work earlier in the month. I love the way the Googly Eye looks on the whale! Unfortunately these googly eyes will not be available after January 2, so stock up now!

Stamps: Oh, Whale!
Ink: Marina Mist, Primrose Petals
Paper: Primrose Petals, Whisper White
Other: Scallop Circle Bigz Die, Primrose Petal Stitched Satin Ribbon, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Googly Eye

Thank you for joining me at the Oh, Whale stop on the blog hop. Don’t you just love that whale? I know that I will be making plenty of projects with him (her?) this spring. Your next stop is over to Betty’s blog. I can’t wait to see what amazing project she has made with the All Dressed Up Bundle!

Oh yes, I am continuing on with the thank you notes! Today’s card uses this week’s sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

The rectangle under the circle was a little tricky I thought, so I figured, why not use Glimmer Paper? The only down side to Glimmer Paper is that it is tricky to photograph well.

CIMG1664

Stamps: Perfectly Penned
Ink: Lucky Limeade
Paper: Crumb Cake, Lucky Limeade, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Pack, Champagne Glimmer Paper
Other: 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, 2 1/2″ Circle Punch

The Champagne Glimmer Paper will not be available after the Holiday Catalog ends on January 3, 2013. If you like it, stock up while you can!

Pals Paper Arts posted their final sketch challenge of 2012 today, and since I am in desperate need of thank you notes, I played along. (I am fortunate to work at school that appreciates their librarian!)

I love this Thank You from Perfectly Penned, and it works so well with the Window Frame Framelits!

CIMG1666

Stamps: Perfectly Penned
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Lucky Limeade
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla, Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Pack
Other: Window Frame Framelits

Good news for you if you don’t have them yet — these framelits will still be available after the Holiday Catalog ends! They would be perfect to pick up during Sale-a-Bration, which is coming at the end of January.
