New Home

My parents recently moved back to Rochester, New York, so I asked if I could make them a change of address card. I used My Digital Studio, and it was easy just to print as many as they needed, especially with My Digital Studio’s bulk pricing plans. I used the punch in the shape of New York State from Fifty Nifty  for the cover, with a heart to indicate Rochester.

My mom loved the cards, and I love their new house!

The Friday Mashup has a great sketch this week! (They also have rosettes, but since I don’t have to mash it up and use rosettes, I’m just going to quietly ignore the rosettes…) As I was saying, isn’t this a great sketch? I love the squares on the square card.

My parents are moving back to Rochester, NY today, and when I saw the “H is for House” block on the super cute Storytime Designer Series Paper, I knew this would be the perfect card to send them. No stamps used on this one, just a little ink for sponging around the edges.

Stamps: none
Ink: Soft Suede, Wild Wasabi
Paper: Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Wild Wasabi, Brushed Gold, Storytime Designer Series Paper
Other: Small Heart Punch, 3/4″ Circle Punch, 1″ Circle Punch, Gold Brads, Paper Piercing Essentials Pack

I bet you are wondering how I got those brads so straight and evenly placed. I used my handy dandy Paper Piercing Essentials Pack. It has a nifty grid of holes that you can use for spacing brads well, among other things.

A friend of mine just moved into a new house, so of course I had to make a congratulations card. I mentioned the other day that I recently “found” my On Board Merry Medley stash of chipboard. It has some cute little house shapes in it. I covered the chip board with designer series paper by first tracing it and then cutting it out. I combined it with the idea of clouds that I saw on this card by Heather Klump. The clouds are made by using a variety of circle punches.

Paper: Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White, Sweet Shop Designer Series Paper
Other: On Board Merry Medley chipboard, Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon, 1″ Circle Punch, 1/2″ Circle Punch, Bitty Punch Pack, Heart to Heart Punch, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

Yep, no ink or stamps on this one! I think the house with the heart on it says it all.

A friend at work just moved into a new house and asked me to make up some change of address cards for her, so I made a few different samples. Below is the card she decided on. (You can see the runner-up here.) Did you see all of those Christmas cards people made where the front of the card looked like a door with a wreath on it? I thought that would be a really fun one to adapt into a change of address card.

Stamps: Loads of Love Accessories
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Soft Suede
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Other: 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch, 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, Gold Brad

This could be used as a “Congratulations on Your New Home” card as well, just by changing the sentiment. What else could you use a door for?

A friend at work recently moved into a new house, and asked me to make up some Change of Address cards for her. I made a few for her to choose from, and this one was the runner-up. I saw this super cute card on Pinterest that looked like an actual moving box, so I adapted it slightly. I glued strips of Window Sheets across it to look like packing tape. The horizontal one is cut in the middle so the card will actually open, and the vertical one is only glued down on the left hand side.

Stamps: Loads of Love Accessories
Ink: VersaMark
Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Other: Window Sheets, Simply Scored

Can I just say that making Gate Fold cards is just so easy with my Simply Scored? I love it!

Exciting news! Stampin’ Up announced today that there will be another My Digital Studio contest coming in September! All of the details will be released on September 1st, but there will be 3 demonstrators and 3 customers who will each win $400 worth of My Digital Studio downloads! I entered last year, and I will definitely be entering again this year.

I showed you two of my pages last year when I found out that I didn’t win, but there was one more that I more project that didn’t show you. (Though some of you may actually have received it in the mail.) My final project for last year’s My Digital Studio contest was this card. It was a cross between a change of address card and a holiday card.

On the inside I included a cute poem and our new address. It’s fun to look at this card now and see how far I have come using My Digital Studio!

Interested in using My Digital Studio, but don’t own it yet? In anticipation of this contest, I’m offering free shipping on the full version of My Digital Studio (not Express) plus any of the Collection DVDs that you purchase with it. (Not on the Collection DVDs alone, sorry.) This offer is good through August 31st. You must order directly through me, not my website, so please contact me for more info. Feel free to combine this with August’s great Buy 3 Get 1 Free Designer Series Paper special!

I made this awhile ago for a friend of mine who had just bought a new condo. I used the apartment building like image from the Builder Wheel and cut it out after I colored it in. Want to know how I made the extra large Word Window for the “Congratulations”? It’s punched out of the Early Espresso twice, and actually stamped on the Marina Mist behind it! Sneaky, huh? I put monkeys in the background because she loves them — that’s the great part about making personalized cards!

Stamps: Neighborhood Jumbo Wheel, Something to Celebrate (retired hostess), Fox & Friends
Ink: Early Espresso, StazOn Jet Black
Paper: Marina Mist, Early Espresso, WaterColor Paper
Other: 2 1/2″ Circle Punch, Word Window Punch, WaterColor Wonder Crayons

Something to Celebrate was a Level 2 hostess set from the Occasions Mini Catalog and is no longer available. It is a fabulous set, with great sentiments! Want a chance to win a clear-mount one? Everyone who places an order of $25 or more  with me from now until the end of May is automatically entered in a drawing to win it! You get one entry for each $25 you order, so two entries for a $50 order, etc. I’ll draw the winner on June 1st. You can contact me to order, or shop online now.

Quite a few of the people I work with have bought new houses this fall, including me! Jessica was the first one to move in and have a house-warming party. It was really fun to make a “congrats on your new house” card for someone else. I pulled out my handy dandy Neighborhood Jumbo Wheel, and I tried to match the color of her new house.

Stamps: Neighborhood Jumbo Wheel, Fundamental Phrases
Ink: Basic Black, Baja Breeze, Concord Crush, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, So Saffron
Paper: Baja Breeze, Concord Crush, Old Olive, Whisper White
Other: Concord Crush Poly Ribbon, Eyelet Border Punch

It was Eve’s idea to color the windows. She said it was an easy way to make it look warm and friendly inside. She was right.
