Hanukkah

What do you do if you need to make some Hanukkah cards, but you don’t want to buy a stamp set that is only for Hanukkah? Luckily, there are some Hanukkah images and sayings in some of the other stamp sets! The 3″ x 3″ card below (also made for a Stampin’ Addicts swap) uses the menorah found in Every Little Bit and the “Happy Hanukkah” from Delightful Dozen.

Stamps: Every Little Bit, Delightful Dozen
Ink: Island Indigo, Pool Party
Paper: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Whisper White
Other: Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Island indigo Ruffled Ribbon, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Big Shot

Aren’t those two In Colors great together? Love them!!

I made some Hanukkah cards for the Stampin’ Addicts Holiday Wow Swap. Some of them are more elegant, and some are bright and fun, like this one. It uses the Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight paper from the Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper. I think it is just perfect for a Hanukkah card!

Stamps: Shalom Sayings
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Big Top Birthday DSP
Other: Tempting Turquoise 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, 2 1/2″ Circle Punch, 3″ Circle Bigz Die, Scallop Circle #2 Bigz Die, Basic Rhinestones

This is such a classic card — substitute a cupcake instead of the Menorah, and you have a fabulous birthday card!

Stampin’ Up has corrected the image on the single Hanukkah stamp in the Holiday Mini Catalog! Below is the corrected image! It is available for ordering today! If you notice all of the letters on the dreidels are now in the correct order to say נס גדול היה שם (A Great Miracle Happened There). Love it!

Please note that image in the online store may not be changed for a while, but the above image is what is actually on the stamp.

This week’s Pals Paper Arts challenge is a very square sketch. I love the packs  of designer series paper in the monochromatic colors. They are just perfect for things like this!

Hanukkah is coming up in 5 more days (!), so I knew I’d better make a Hanukkah card for this one! I’m not sure if you can tell by the picture, but the Hanukkiah in the middle is stamped in Whisper White Craft ink, and then embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. It is very sparkly and fun in real life!

Stamps: Shalom Sayings
Ink: Whisper White Craft Ink
Paper: Pacific Point, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Brights Patterns Designer Series Paper Pack (Pacific Point)
Other: Iridescent Ice embossing powder

This is a 4 1/4″ square card, so it will still fit in a standard envelope.

Another great sketch from Stamping 411 this week! Clean and simple and easy to make a great card with!

I decided this would be a great sketch to use to make my nephew a card for his very first Hanukkah. I used the baby from All in the Family, the menorah from Every Little Bit, and the “Happy Hanukkah” from Shalom Sayings. I inked it up with my Pacific Point Stampin’ Write Marker to get just the words.

Stamps: All in the Family, Every Little Bit, Shalom Sayings
Ink: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Whisper White
Other: Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Big Shot

Hope my brother doesn’t mind that it’s in UCLA colors! (Sorry for the quality of the picture — I’m having some camera issues.)

This week’s Pals Paper Arts challenge is to make a Clean & Simple card with Ribbon. I got this nice wide grosgrain ribbon to make Hanukkah cards with, and realized how perfect it was for this challenge! The ribbon was a lot softer than I expected it to be, too.

Stamps: Shalom Sayings
Ink: VersaMark, Night of Navy
Paper: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Night of Navy
Other: Night of Navy Striped 1 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, Gold Embossing Powder

I really like how nicely the Soft Suede card stock matches the gold. It’s a great alternative to the Brushed Gold card stock.

I was excited to see this week’s Stamping 411 sketch challenge, because it has the perfect spot for the Hanukkiah from Shalom Sayings.

When I looked at the sketch, I knew exactly what I wanted to put in that bottom design spot –  the Candle Crazy builder wheel! Here’s what I came up with:

Stamps: Shalom Sayings, Candle Crazy Builder Wheel
Ink: Night of Navy, Bashful Blue
Paper: Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Other: Night of Navy Satin Ribbon

Don’t forget, tomorrow is the deadline to enter the My Digital Studio Contest!

Here it is. The first official Hanukkah card of the season. Hanukkah comes early this year (or December comes late, your choice) and it is time to get going on these! I started with this week’s Clean&Simple sketch challenge.

Because the “Happy Hanukkah” sentiment is actually inside the main image, the card looked a little unbalanced to me, so I added some ribbon. Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight are a bright and festive Hanukkah color combination.

Stamps: Shalom Sayings
Ink: Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Brights Designer Series Paper Pack, Whisper White
Other: Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon, Top Note Bigz Die, Big Shot

Hanukkah starts December 1st, so there will be quite a few Hanukkah cards coming your way soon!

Hello and welcome to another Stampin’ Addicts Blog Hop! We are showcase some of the fabulous new items available in Stampin’ Up’s! Summer Mini Catalog. There are a wide variety of exciting new stamps and other products. You may have just arrived from Allison Ohran’s blog, where she showed you some of the new Builder Wheels. (If you are starting here, that’s okay too, the whole hop goes in a circle!) I am excited to show you the other three builder wheels, which are birthday themed.

The builder wheels are a really neat new concept. So far, there are six available wheels. Each wheel measures approximately 2/3 of an inch wide. There is a special spindle for the wheels that comes with spacers, allowing you to place one, two, or three of the builder wheels in one of the Stampin’ Around Jumbo Wheel handles and create your own designs. You can also purchase an uninked triple cell cartridge to create your own ink cartridge and have each of the builder wheels use a different color of ink in one swoop across the card stock! It is a fantastic concept, and I am so excited to play with these designs! Today I will be showing you four different projects that I made using the Candle Crazy, Birthday, and So Many Stars Builder Wheels.

My first project is a card that I created for a Stampin’ Addicts swap. I filled the uninked cartridge with Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay to easily make a dozen of these. The phrase “Happy Birthday” measures five inches long, just right for a card front! I used my Two-Way glue pen to add some Dazzling Diamonds to the front for extra sparkle!

Stamps: Candle Crazy Builder Wheel, Birthday Builder Wheel, So Many Stars Builder Wheel
Ink: Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay
Paper: Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Crushed Curry Designer Prints Series Paper
Other: Scallop Border Punch, Two-Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

For my second project I created a card with a matching mini milk carton. I didn’t want to use the stars on this project, so I used each of the Builder Wheels separately to create this. I think I may have to buy an extra of the candles wheel, because I really like how it looks surrounding the Happy Birthday. Just another way this is such a flexible product! (You can click on the photo for a closer look.)

Stamps: Candle Crazy Builder Wheel, Birthday Builder Wheel
Ink: Summer Sun, Brilliant Blue, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Summer Sun, Brilliant Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
Other: Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Mini Milk Carton Bigz L Die, Big Shot

Now we do have a fabulous Fourth of July Stamp Set and Patriotic Jumbo Wheel in this mini catalog, however as I was looking at the So Many Stars Builder Wheel, I realized that it would make a fantastic Patriotic card! Here is what I came up with:

Stamps: So Many Stars Builder Wheel
Ink: Night of Navy
Paper: Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White, Brushed Silver
Other: Large Star Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals

My final project is actually the first thing I thought of doing — I just saw all of those candles and immediately thought  HANUKKAH! I know it’s not the right time of year, but I had to try one anyone. The ribbon is white satin, even though it looks like something else in the picture. The phrase “Happy Hanukkah” is from the Chit Chat Rub-Ons which have a huge variety of phrases in both white and Chocolate Chip.

Stamps: Candle Crazy Builder Wheel
Ink: VersaMark
Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Kraft, Brushed Gold
Other: Gold Embossing Powder, Gold Brads, White Satin Ribbon, Modern Label Punch, Punch Windows Movers & Shapers Die, Big Shot

I hope you enjoyed this stop on the Stampin’ Addicts Summer Mini Catalog Blog Hop. Next up is Carmen, who will be showing you the super yummy Sweet Scoops stamp set.

Alright, here they are, the last three months of the calendar I made for my parents. I know you’ve been anxiously waiting to see them, so I thought I’d put all three months in at once, instead of making you wait until tomorrow to see December. I’m considerate like that!

October has to be Halloween right? What else could it be?

For November, I used the quintessential “olives on the fingers” picture. Everyone has one like that from Thanksgiving, right? Is there another way to eat black olives?

For December I used pictures taken this week while we have been here visiting. It was fun to turn them into a scrapbook page so quickly. Makes me want to scrapbook life as I go along. What a crazy idea that is!

I hope you enjoyed looking at the calendar! Just a reminder that today is the last day to order from the Holiday Mini Catalog. The Build-a-Bear items, My Digital Studio, and the Shimmer Paint will continue to be available, but everything else is gone! Make wise choices!
