Halloween

Another fun set of colors from ColourQ this week!

I guess I’m ready for Fall, since these colors looked like Fall to me , even with the Christmas trees in the picture! As I searched through my pictures, I found some great ones from pumpkin carving two years ago.

This uses the digital versions of the Old Olive Satin Ribbon, the Cast a Spell Designer Series Paper, and the Calendar Basics Stamp Brush set. I hope you’ll come play along with us at ColourQ! Let me know if you do, I’d love to see what you make!

Wow! Two great sketches to choose from over at Stamping 411! I picked this one, though if time permits I may give the other one a whirl, too.

I have seen a few of these cards using the pennant punch to make a tiled background. I thought it would be fun to make one in Halloween colors. They bring to mind witches’ hats, don’t you think?

Stamps: Delightful Dozen
Ink: Concord Crush, Tangerine Tango, Basic Black
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, Concord Crush, Basic Black, Whisper White
Other: Concord Crush Poly Ribbon, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Pennant Builder Punch

I can think of quite a few variations on this pennant background, including using Designer Series Paper and running it through an embossing folder. The pennant punch made it super easy!

Happy Halloween!! I am so sorry for not posting more recently — we finally moved into our new house yesterday. What a lot of craziness that is!! I’m hoping to get back to my regular posting schedule. Actually, November is National Blog Posting Month, so I’m hoping to have a new post every day for you!

I’m pretty sure that this is the 4th year in a row that I have made a Halloween spinner card with the Batty For You set. I just can’t seem to pass up the opportunity! I made this with the kids on Thursday. They loved it!

Stamps: Batty for You, All Holidays
Ink: Peach Parfait
Paper: Peach Parfait, Basic Black, Whisper White, In Color Designer Series Paper Pack (Peach Parfait)
Other: Word Window Punch, Designer Label Punch, 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Pennies

Hope you have a happy & safe Halloween!

A few days ago I showed you the pumpkin milk carton that I decided NOT to make with my after school class. Today I will show you what we are in fact making this afternoon. It’s a whole Got Treats 3″x3″ note card set! The kids will get to use both the Clear-Mount stamps and the markers to color different parts.

Stamps: Got Treats
Ink: Soft Suede, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Old Olive, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Pretty in Pink, Pacific Point
Paper: Soft Suede, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Pretty in Pink, Pacific Point, Whisper White

As I was trying to come up with projects for my after-school kids’ class, I thought it would be super fun to make a “Got Treats” milk carton. It also is a perfect match for this week’s Stampin’ Celebration Inspiration Challenge.

Well, I’m really glad I tried it ahead of time, because though it was fun, and came out super cute, it is definitely not something I would want to try with a bunch of eight-year-olds. Because I would end up putting together all of the milk cartons. I love the Got TReats set, not just for the cute images, but for all of the little stamps with directions to make it look like a real milk carton.

Stamps: Got Treats
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Always Artichoke, Basic Black
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Whisper White
Other: Basic Black 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon, Milk Carton Bigz L Die, Big Shot

Eve made a cute “Got Birthday” milk carton, which I’ll show you later this week. I came up with a different project for the kids using the Got Treats set. Keep an eye out for that as well.

We had a really fun afternoon yesterday at the after-school card making class! One of the projects the kids could make was to die cut a Build-a-Bear and they could dress it.  I had a lot of clothes left over from my summer school card making class, plus I added some pumpkins and witches. They LOVED putting these together! They made a little fashion show at the end so I could take some pictures. There were three color choices for bears — Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, and Crumb Cake.

Created by 2nd, 3rd, & 4th graders — Eve, Lyla, Laura, Giana, Jade, Sydney, Rosie, Esther, Avi, Reggie, Madeleine, & Carly.

Dies used: Bear Bigz Die, Beary Dressy Die, Beary Essentials Die, Kooky Spooky Die

The reason that some of the bears’ heads look a little flat on top is that these are cards that open, and the top of the head is the fold.

I love this card by Jennifer, and knew that my after-school class would have a super fun time making it! I changed it a little to make it a bit easier for the kids (no craft ink!), but it is just as fun and spooky.

Stamps: Batty for You
Ink: Basic Black
Paper: Basic Grey, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
Other: Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Raven Lace, 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Spider Web Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Big Shot

By the way, the great Clearance Blitz ends on Monday, October 18th. Hurry over to my online store to stock up on savings now!

I promised the kids when they signed up for card making that we would make cards with candy in them. As you can imagine, this was a big draw! Here is the third card we are making tomorrow after school, it measures 4″ x 4″ folded. (With a big thank you to my downline Melissa for saving me when I ran out of Sweet Treat cups!)

Stamps: Sweet Centers
Ink: Basic Black, Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi
Paper: Tangerine Tango (textured), Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Other: 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Sweet Treat Cups

I’m sure there will be more candy corn eaten than actually put in the cards!

I am leading an after-school stamping activity, and the kids let me know that they are ready for Halloween! I took one look at this week’s ColorLab colors and knew that they would be perfect.

I have mostly girls in the club, so I decided to make a cute little witch bear with the colors.  I have a feeling this Season of Hugs set will be seeing quite a lot of ink this fall!

Stamps: Beary Best Friends, Season of Hugs
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Whisper White, Brights Designer Series Patterns Stack (Rich Razzleberry)

The boys will have the option of creating a pirate bear if they want.

The Pals Paper Arts challenge this week is a theme challenge — Halloween! I love Halloween! I decided to use the Clean&Simple sketch this week along with the Got Treats stamp set to make a fun Halloween card.

Because of the size of the pumpkin image, I had to use the 1 3/4″ circle punch to punch it out, and therefore the new, bigger scallop punch behind it. So glad we have a larger scallop circle punch now!

Stamps: Got Treats
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Basic Black
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Whisper White
Other: Scallop Circle Bigz Die, Clear Circle Die, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Pumpkin Pie 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, Big Shot

Circle cards are fun and easy when using the Big Shot!
