Baby

I had a bunch of leftover pieces of the Pink Pirouette Patterned  Paper after I finished the pack of Baby Carriage cards that I showed you yesterday. I needed to make a card to go with the gift pack, so I used the scraps to make a Top Note Quilt Card. I embossed it with the Vintage Wallpaper folder afterward to make it look even more quilt like.

Stamps: Baby Bundle
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Pink Piouette, Chocolate Chip, Subtles Designer Series Patterns Stack
Other: Top Note Bigz Die, Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Basic Pearls, Chocolate Chip Dotted Scallop Ribbon

The patterns are very subtle in the picture, but it looks quite quilt like in real life.

Steve asked me to make a pack of cards for a friend of his who is having her second baby girl. (Hi Kara!) She is a very classy woman, so I wanted something that was a little more elegant. The flash on the rhinestones changes the color somewhat, but I love the way Pink Pirouette looks with Chocolate Chip.

Stamps: Baby Bundle
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Basic Grey
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Subtles Designer Series Paper Stacks
Other: Scallop Circle #2 Bigz Die, 2 1/2″ Circle Punch, Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, Paper Piercer

I didn’t put any words on it so she can use them as thank you notes or any other type of card that she might need.

Come back tomorrow to see the card I made to go with the gift. Hint: I used the leftover pieces of the Designer Series Paper.

I hope that you enjoyed the Stampin’ Addicts blog hop this past weekend! If you didn’t have to time to hop through it, it’s not too late! As promised, I will show you what is inside those cute little baby shower boxes. I used the new It’s a Wrap Occasions stamp set to wrap a couple of Hershey Nuggets!

This stamp set is fantastic. It works with mailing labels that are 2 5/8″ by 1″ to create perfect little nugget wrappers!

Here’s what the whole set looks like:

It also comes in French and Spanish, and the most exciting news is that there is going to be a holiday version in the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog as well!

Welcome to the Stampin’ Addicts’ New Catalog Blog Hop, featuring sets that are brand new this year in Stampin’ Up’s 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog. You may have just arrived from Betty’s blog, where she featured the beautiful Sunflower background stamp, or you might be starting here. Either way, the links will take you around in a complete circle.

I am pleased to be featuring the new Occasions Alphabet, a 26 piece set with each letter of the alphabet and cute saying to go along with it. They are all fun and alliterative, which I love. The first project I have to show you today is a thank you card. I really like the K is for Kindness stamp. It’s a close fit, but it does work in the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch.

Stamps: Occasions Alphabet
Ink: Old Olive
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Whisper White, Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper
Other: Old Olive 5/8″ Satin Ribbon, 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Perfect Pennants Bigz Die, Big Shot

My second project is somewhat similar. I needed a pack of cards to give as a thank you to the Assistant Head of School. I paired this set with the alphabet paper from the Just Add Cake designer series paper for a look that really said “elementary school” to me. I picked 6 different letters, so she would have cards for a variety of occasions. (You can click on the picture for a closer view of the sayings.)

Stamps: Occasions Alphabet
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper
Other: 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch

My third project would make great favors for a baby shower. Fortunately, most of the stamps fit inside the Four Frames stamp set, though some are too long. You could use the other stamps to make these cute little boxes for a variety of occasions. (Curious about what is inside the boxes? Stop back on Monday to see!)

Stamps: Occasions Alphabet, Four Frames
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Melon Mambo
Paper: Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Other: Chocolate Chip Scallop Dots Ribbon, Melon Mambo Scallop Dots Ribbon, Designer Label Punch  Matchbox Bigz XL Die, Big Shot

For my final project, I used the Stampin’ Write markers to ink up only the letter on the stamp. It is a super cute font! And guess what? It is just the perfect size to fit in the Petite Pennants Builder Punch! I used it to write the word “party” below, but you could use it for any three, four, or five letter name to personalize a card!

Stamps: Occasions Alphabet
Ink: Peach Parfait, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Peach Parfait, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper
Other: Petite Pennants Builder Punch

Thank you so much for hopping with us today! Your next stop is the incomparable Holly! She makes the most amazing creations out of punches and Big Shot dies, and she does not disappoint with the new Perfect Pennants Die! My personal favorite is the Hanukkah spinner card she made! I love it!

Arielle has some fun bright colors for us over at the ColourQ challenge today!

I was looking for pictures to go with these colors, and wouldn’t you know it? They match the colors that everyone was wearing at my nephew Leo’s first birthday party last month! How considerate of everyone!

Want to know how I made the photo in the shape of a #1? I will have a detailed photo tutorial for you later this week, but if you want to get a jump on it, I found the directions on this thread at MyDigitalStudio.net.

No, no, not for me! But when I saw today’s monochromatic blue color challenge on the Pals Paper Arts blog, that was the first thing that came to mind!

I only wanted to use part of the saying from the Baby Bundle stamp set, not the whole thing. With markers and the clear mount stamps it was easy to use only what I wanted and make it fit into the frame!

Stamps: Baby Bundle, Four Frames
Ink: Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy
Paper: Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White
Other: Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon, Designer Label Punch, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Big Shot

I’m so happy the Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon is back in this catalog! It was the perfect touch.

(p.s. Did you see the news? My 50 Card Sketches book is now available for Kindle, Nook, and direct from me as a PDF!)

When there is a 5th Saturday in a month, Stampin’ Addicts has what is called a Stamp Jam — a fun-filled day of stamping challenges and chats. One of the themes was baby cards, so I made this cute card for a friend who has chosen not to find out whether she is having a boy or a girl. Her baby shower at work was this week.

Stamps: Baby Bundle
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Basic Grey
Paper: Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Whisper White
Other: Scallop Square Duo Bigz Die, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon, Subtles Brads

I made her a super cute present in these colors too, but I’m putting together a photo tutorial on that. I’ll have it up for you in a few days.

My library assistant recently became a grandmother for the first time, so of course I had to make her a card! I pulled out my Wonderful Favorites stamp set — haven’t used that in a long time! I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to position all the words together just right! This stamp set is great, since you can piece together the words for just about any family relationship, including “step” and “-in-law.”

Stamps: Baby Bundle
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Blush Blossom, Basic Gray
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Other: Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Pretty in Pink 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon, Subtles Brads, Stamp-a-ma-jig

With the Wonderful Favorites sets you also have the option of “To a” or “To my.” It’s a handy set!

I was so excited to find an Israeli paper crafting challenge, that I had to do it right away! It is called שלוש בשלישי or Tuesday Trio. This week they had a sketch challenge, plus an additional challenge of using dots.  I combined this with Color Throwdown #131 and the SUO Challenge of using something from Sale-a-Bration.

I looked through my different Sale-a-Bration products, and came back to the Bear Hugs set that I had featured for the Stampin’ Addicts Blog Hop. This is one of the sets from the main catalog that you can earn for free during Sale-a-Bration. I had to add Crumb Cake for the bear. I tried to color him in Pink Pirouette, and it just looked horrid! Here’s what I came up with:

Stamps: Bear Hugs
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Pink Pirouette
Paper: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Other: Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Small Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Big Shot

I love this stamp set, and these are perfect baby bear colors!

Welcome to the latest Stampin’ Addicts’ Blog Hop, celebrating my favorite Stampin’ Up event of the year, Sale-a-Bration!  You may have just arrived from Krystal’s blog, where she showed you the  cute Wellness Wishes stamp set, or you may be starting here. Either way, all of the stops link together in one big circle, so you won’t miss any of the great ideas and projects.

I am very excited to be featuring the adorable Build-a-Bear set, Bear Hugs. This is a set from the main catalog that is one of the choices at the back of the Sale-a-Bration catalog. I’ve had this set for awhile, and I love it more and more every time I use it! It makes great baby cards, and can be used from baby showers all the way through a first birthday!

The first card I want to show you is based on Lauren Meader’s original baby onesie card. This bear image is just perfect to decorate it! I stamped the image in Basic Gray for a softer look, then used my markers to color it in.

Stamps: Bear Hugs
Ink: Basic Gray, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Pear Pizzaz
Paper: So Saffron, Whisper White, Pawsitively Prints II Designer Series Paper
Other: 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, Subtles Brads (So Saffron)

My second card is another shaped card, this time a baby bib. (I believe this idea was created by the incomparable Jackie Topa.) It’s so easy to change the gender of the baby bear just by changing the color of his or her socks! I used my Aqua Painters and reinkers to color in the bear this time.

Stamps: Bear Hugs
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Pretty in Pink
Paper: Marina Mist, Whisper White
Other: Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon, Scallop Circle Bigz Die, Clear Circle Bigz Die, Big Shot, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Pewter Jumbo Eyelets, Crop-a-dile

My third project would work great as a baby shower favor — just fill it with chocolate and you are good to go! I stamped my bear in Basic Gray on the different colors of card stock, then cut them out and paper-pieced it together. It is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamps: Bear Hugs
Ink: Basic Gray
Paper: Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride, Whisper White, In Color Designers Series Paper Stack
Other: Blushing Bride Poly Ribbon, Mini Milk Carton Die, Big Shot, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Crop-a-Dile

My final project is by Eve, my favorite guest designer, and 7-year-old daughter. The Build-a-Bear stamps are a HUGE hit with the kids, and this one is no exception! How great is it that Stampin’ Up gives us a way to earn free stamps, so we don’t have to worry about letting the kids share them?

Stamps: Bear Hugs
Ink: Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron
Paper: Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Whisper White
Other: Small Heart Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Scallop Trim Corner Punch

I hope that you enjoyed this stop on the Stampin’ Addicts’ Occasions Mini Catalog Blog Hop! I am honored to be part of such a talented group of women! Your next stop is over to Carmen’s blog to see the awesome Extreme Skateboard stamp! Enjoy the rest of the hop!
