Anniversary

I like this week’s Unscripted Sketches because it gave me a chance to use my new Petite Curly Label that I got free from Sale-a-Bration, and the matching set, too!

SK-165-US-196

I love stamps with matching punches, and being able to get them both free during Sale-a-Bration is really the icing on the cake. I also used the Ciao, Baby stamp set, which also matches this punch. I doubled up the Pool Party Seam Binding so it wouldn’t be as see-through.

Stamps: Pretty Petites, Ciao BabyInk: Real Red, Basic Grey, Pool Party
Paper: Real Red, Whisper White, More Amore Designer Series Paper
Other: Pool Party Seam Binding, Petite Curly Label Punch

You will be able to buy this punch after Sale-a-Bration, but why wait to buy it when you can get it now for free?

Wow! I can not believe that today is my 17th wedding anniversary! How could the time go so quickly?

As I may have mentioned before, my husband is an avid woodworker, and has lately been pursing it more and more. (See his Kickstarter Project here.) So of course, the anniversary card that I made had to include woodworking! I pulled out my Hearts Collection Framelits, and this is what I came up with.

Stamps: Tool Shed, Memorable Moments, Oh Whale (heart)
Ink: Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Other: Hearts Collection Framelits

I do love making shaped cards with Framelits! I think that the colors and the stamps keep it pretty masculine looking, even with the scallops on the outside heart.

I finally had time to play along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week. (I spent all day yesterday representing the library at Brentwood’s open house.)  Isn’t it a great sketch?

My in-law’s anniversary is coming up at the beginning of October, and I thought this would be just perfect for an anniversary card if I made that circle into a heart. After a quick text to my sister-in-law to confirm the correct number of years, it came together really well! This card is 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.

Stamps: Memorable Moments
Ink: Cajun Craze, Midnight Muse
Paper: Midnight Muse, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper
Other: Hearts Collection Framelits, Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

I love the Memorable Moments stamp set! It is just perfect for personalizing birthday and anniversary cards!!

Another super sketch for the talented women over at Retro Sketches again this week. Look at all of the fabulous elements on this!

I wanted to use a fun shape on the left, so I pulled out the biggest framelit in the Apothecary Accents collections. (Does anyone else call this Apothecary Arts? Was that a class in Harry Potter? I do this all of the time!) I added a whole lot of texture and came up with what I think is a pretty elegant anniversary card.

Stamps: Happy Hour, A Word for You
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Island Indigo
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Island Indigo, Whisper White
Other: Apothecary Accents Framelits, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Island Indigo Baker’s Twine, Brights Buttons

I love this Paper Piercing Pack! It includes so many fun shapes! I’m really excited that there is another one coming in the Holiday catalog that includes even more great shapes! Can’t wait!

Today is my parents’ 47th anniversary! Wow, that’s a long time! Hard to believe they are almost to 50! ( I guess I better get planning for that, huh?) In order to commemorate such a monumental anniversary, I used the fantastic new Memorable Moments stamp set, which lets you customize events by years. I also used each of their favorite colors, personalize it even further!

Stamps: Memorable Moments
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper
Other: Hearts Collection Framelits

Happy Anniversary, Mom & Dad! I hope you have a fabulous day, and many more wonderful years together!

One of the really fun things about being on Spring Break is that I have time to play along with challenges on the day that they are posted! Today’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge is a fun one, with a nice big space for a focal image.

I haven’t used my gnome stamps much, so I brought them out for this card. I had to pair them with a saying from the coordinating Gnomenclature stamp set which is full of delightfully awful puns.

Stamps: Gnome Sweet Gnome, Gnomenclature
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Poppy Parade, Soft Suede, Blush Blossom
Paper: Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Soft Suede, Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla, Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper
Other: Small Heart Punch, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch

I have to remind you that Sale-a-Bration is ending on Saturday! That is your last chance to get this fabulous Everyday Enchantment paper as well as the other Sale-a-Bration exclusive items. That’s it. Saturday. And then they are gone.

My brother and sister-in-law just celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary on March 9th. I thought it would be only fitting to make them an anniversary card featuring the number 9! I recently rediscovered my pack of Merry Medley On Board. It has super cute chipboard pieces in houses, clouds, hearts, pennants, and numbers. To liven up the 9, I first covered it in Whisper White craft ink. Then I dabbed Snow White Shimmer Paint over the top. You can kind of see the glimmer in the picture below.

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White Craft
Paper: Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, Sweet Shop Designer Series Paper
Other: Merry Medley On Board, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Hearts Framelits

Chipboard adds such a fun touch to cards! I really need to play with it more!

Wowsers! Today is my 16th anniversary. Below is the card I made for my husband. It was so fun and easy to make with the new Heart Framelits! This card was inspired by a card made by Tonya Byrd that I saw on Stampin’ Connection, a Stampin’ Up demonstrator only website. (There are currently over 200,000 samples posted! Another great reason to be a demonstrator!)

Stamps: Take it to Heart, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Real Red, VersaMark
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Whisper White, Big Top Birthday DSP
Other: Hearts Framelits, Word Window Punch, Matchbox Bigz XL Die, Tempting Turquiose Embossing Powder

I just love how that image looks embossed, and I’m so happy that Stampin’ Up has so many great colors of embossing powder now!

I really like this week’s Stamping 411 sketch, and the colors from the Color Lab Challenge are fantastic, but combining them had me beating my head against a wall!

I didn’t want to use flowers, and everything else that I thought of need some kind of brown. So I ran all my errands, made another pack of cards for a gift (I’ll show you those later in the week), and finally, finally decided to use one of the sayings from Word Play. (You know that’s on sale for 30% off this month, right?) And you know what? I really like how it came out!

Stamps: Word Play
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Pear Pizazz, Baja Breeze
Paper: Pear Pizazz, Not Quite Navy, Rose Red, Whisper White
Other: Square Scallop Duo Bigz Die, 3/4″ Circle Punch, Baja Breeze Seam Binding (still available!), Subtles Brads, Finial Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I love that that little world fits perfectly in the 3/4″ circle punch! I had tried to make the seam binding ruffled, but I couldn’t get it right. I’m going to have to work on that some more. If you have any helpful tips on that, I’d love to hear them!

Happy Anniversary to my honey!! We were married 15 years ago today. Wow, time sure flies! We’ve known each other over half our lives now. Crazy! I wanted to make a really special card, so I looked up what the 15th anniversary is. It’s crystal. Crystal? How was I going to make a card with crystal? So I put on my thinking cap, and here is what I came up with. There are Dazzling Diamonds inside the Sweet Treat Cup, and Iridescent Ice embossing powder over the wheel stamped in the background. I also added some Crystal Effects inside the ribbon buckle.

Stamps: Sweet Centers, Language of Love Wheel
Ink: Real Red, Night of Navy, VersaMark
Paper: Real Red, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Other: Sweet Treat Cup, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Iridescent Ice embossing powder, Night of Navy 5/8″ satin ribbon, Hodge Podge Hardware, Crystal Effects

What do you think? Did I make it crystal-y enough?
