2017 Year of the Red Rooster

Posted by on January 25, 2017

Gung Hay Fat Choy! January 27th is the Lunar New Year and the start of the Year of the Rooster. (Or possible a chicken, depending on the translation that you use.) This is a Fire year, so it is considered the Year of the Red Rooster/Chicken, which is very lucky. My daughter is taking Mandarin in middle school, so I made her this card to give to her teacher. (I’m so glad that we have these chicken stamps available during Sale-a-Bration!)

Year of the Rooster by Yapha

Stamps: Hey Chick
Ink: VersaMark
Paper: Real Red, Gold Foil
Other: Stitched Shape Framelits, Festive Embossing Folder, Gold Embossing Powder

I used the theme of New Beginnings (for the Chinese New Year) from the Less is More Challenge and the great sketch from the Stamp Ink Paper challenge.

Are you curious about this Plexus stuff that I keep posting about? Wondering what the big deal is? Why I find it so life changing?

Join me tomorrow! A couple of my team leaders are doing a live presentation tomorrow (Thursday) night at 6pm Pacific time if you want to watch. It’s only 1/2 an hour and they are going to be talking about the different products. You can see it at https://youtu.be/9YYzEXykJ8E

(Let me know if you do, so I can make sure that you get entered to win the prizes.)

What a super card, such bright bold colours and looking extremely festive! It’s a great take on the sketch challenge and perfect for our theme of new beginnings. The chicken stamp was a very lucky bit of kit to have available! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Less is More 🙂

Yapha, what a fun way of honoring the Lunar New Year with this funky rooster! I’ll be completely honest that growing up with chickens, I can’t stand them at all, but embossed in gold I actually really like him! Thanks for joining us at Stamp, Ink, Paper this week! Crystal, DT
