Birthday Card with Thoughtful Branches

Posted by on August 18, 2016

As soon as I saw the Thoughtful Branches bundle, I knew that I wanted to use it for my dad’s birthday card this year.  His birthday is next week, so I’d better get this card in the mail soon!

Thoughtful Branches Birthday Card by Yapha

Stamps: Thoughtful Branches, Birthday Fiesta
Ink: VersaMark, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Garden Green, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip
Other: Beautiful Branches Thinlets, Clear Embossing Powder

I wanted my tree to have extra depth, so I started out by using the tree top thinlet to make a hole in the So Saffron layer so the Garden Green base would show through. I cut it from the back, though, so it would be the opposite image of the one I put on top.

My next layer was the bare branches, because I knew some of them would show through.

I really like the stamped tree trunk, so I added that next.

I used Clear Embossing Powder on both the trunk and the leaves to make the tree even more vibrant.

I used the colors from Can You Case It  and the diagonal from the top left for the Stamp Ink Paper tic tac toe challenge.
