Peeking at Fall Leaves through the Trees

Posted by on November 26, 2015

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you who are celebrating today! For today’s card I tried a technique that I have seen all over the Internet. I don’t know who came up with it first, but it is very clever. You stamp right on to the Woodland embossing folder before you run your cardstock through in order to give the illusion that you are looking through the birch trees. The classic Lovely As a Tree stamp set, this week’s pick over at What Will You Stamp, was perfect for this technique! I brayed Crumb Cake ink on the embossing folder first, and then stamped the trees in Early Espresso ink. I added leaves to my trees with Stampin’ Write Markers after I embossed the cardstock.

Thankful Woodland Trees by Yapha

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Endless Thanks
Ink: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Hello Honey, Cajun Craze
Paper: Hello Honey, Cajun Craze, Whisper White
Other: Woodland Embossing Folder, Hello Honey Stitched Satin Ribbon, Circle Thinlets

The Woodland Embossing Folder is one of the items that will be retired at the end of December when the Holiday Catalog Ends. The Hello Honey ribbon is retired, but available on the Clearance Rack while supplies last. In addition to the stamp set from What Will You Stamp, I also used this week’s colors from the ColourQ challenge. I substituted Cajun Craze for Really Rust.

I love the explanation of how you used the embossing folder. Thank you so much! I am not sure what you used the Circle Thinlits for. Can you let me know? Thanks again. Nancy B
