Snow Place for Stampin’ Addicts Winter Holiday Blog Hop

Posted by on September 25, 2015

Hello and welcome to the Stampin’ Addicts Winter Holiday Blog Hop! We are excited to be featuring Winter themed items from Stampin’ Up’s Holiday catalog. (Click here for the Fall Holiday Blog Hop) You may have arrived here from Heidi Bak’s Blog where she featured the Your Presents stamp set or perhaps Paula Wright’s Blog (if you are going backwards), or you may be starting here. In any case, all of the blogs link together in a circle so you won’t miss a stop!

I am excited to be featuring the super cute holiday set, Snow Place. It has an adorable penguin, snowmen, winter clothes, and matching framelits for all of them. The first card I have for you is a re-make of a card I made at least 10 years ago with the old Wild About You stamp set. It is a single layer card. It was so much easier to make this time — the penguin framelit and the square framelits made cutting the masks super simple!

Peeking Penguins by Yapha

Stamps: Snow Place
Ink: Archival Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Thick Whisper White
Other: Square Framelits, Snow Friends Framelits (both for masking)

My second card uses this week’s challenge from Can You Case It of using any three blues plus a neutral. I picked Soft Sky, Bermuda Bay, and Night of Navy. (I had to use a little Pumpkin Pie, too, for the noses.) I inked up the Softly Falling Embossing Folder to make the background.

Stamps: Snow Place
Ink: Soft Sky, Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White
Other: Snow Friends Framelits, Softly Falling Embossing Folder

My third card uses this week’s sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. I love how some stampers have been using the Brick Wall Embossing Folder on white cardstock for an igloo look, so I had to use that on this card.
