Back to School Chalkboard Card

Posted by on August 18, 2014

It is back to school today for me! My summer is officially over. It was a good one though. I got plenty of stamping in and managed to meet my goal of reading 100 Newbery-eligible books. Faculty go back today, the kids don’t start until a week from tomorrow. I made today’s card is for Eve anyway, the Friday Mashup Challenge was just perfect — a school theme with your school colors. Here’s what I put together (our colors are red and blue). The finished card is 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″.

Back to School Card by Yapha

Stamps: Memorable Moments, Sketched Birthday, and Tap,Tap, Tap
Ink: VersaMark, Whisper White Craft Ink
Paper: Night of Navy, Real Red, Basic Black
Other: White Embossing Powder, Real Red 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon, 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle, 1″ Circle Punch

The six is because Eve is starting 6th grade. I can’t believe it! This is the last year that she will be on the lower school campus with me. It’s amazing how fast time flies.

Yapha- way to mash it up with your school colors! And Congrats on your Newberry reading this summer- awesome, now put some stars on your chart! I love the use of the Tap, Tap, Tap on your card with the Chalkboard technique. TFS with us at the Friday Mashup this week:)

What a great card, I really need to try out the chalkboard technique myself.

100 Newberry-eligible books? Impressive!! I set a goal of 30 books this year over on Goodreads and I’m already 7 books behind.
