There is a great technique challenge from the Friday Mashup this week, to use your clear block as a stamp and/or do some color blocking. I paired this with the Dynamic Duo color challenge of Pool Party and Basic Black. (I skipped dessert this time.)
I have done clear block stamping before, though not in quite awhile. (One example is on this Rosh Hashanah card.) One trick that I found is that it helps if the paper has some give, not just a hard table underneath. I put my paper piercing mat under my card stock when I stamped on it, and got much better coverage from my block. You really don’t want to see my first few tries!
Stamps: Best of Brides & Babies, Zoo Babies
Ink: Pool Party, Basic Black, Encore Silver
Paper: Pool Party, Basic Black, Whisper White, Winter Frost Designer Series Paper
Other: Silver 1/8″ Ribbon
It may be hard to see in the picture, but I sponged some of the Encore Silver ink around the edges of the Whisper White and Winter Frost pieces. It adds a touch a glimmer in real life. This turned out to be a very elegant baby card indeed!
