Starting 5th Grade

Posted by on August 8, 2013

Tomorrow is the Stampin’ Addicts Fall Holiday Blog Hop, and I can’t wait to see what great projects my friends are making! Today, though, I have a triple challenge card for you! It combines the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, the inspiration challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments, and the “Back to School” theme challenge from SUO Challenges.

I combined these challenges to make a first day of school card for my daughter, who will be starting 5th grade in 2 1/2 weeks. I can not believe how fast the summer has flown by, or that this is her second to last year in the Lower School with me! I do like to stick cards in her lunch on the first day of school, so I was glad to have this done and ready. The finished card is 5″ x 5″.

First Day of 5th Grade card by Yapha Mason

Stamps: none
Ink: Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz
Paper: Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Very Vanilla, Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper, Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper, Modern Medley Designer Series Paper
Other: Word Window Punch, Typeset Alphabet Bigz Dies, Brights Buttons

Doesn’t the Word Window punch make super cute books? Whoever thought of that was just brilliant! I really like the Pool Party background paper for this card. It has great words on it, like happy, brilliant, brave, courageous, generous, strong, energetic, creative, passionate — all of the things I wish for my daughter!

I hope you’ll come back tomorrow for the Blog Hop! I’ll be featuring the Harvest of Thanks stamp set.
