My final card in this weekend’s Blog Hop was a View Master card. As promised, I have a tutorial for you today so that you can make your own!
- Two pieces of colored cardstock, 4 ¼” x 4 ¼”
- One piece of Whisper White cardstock, 4 ¼” x 4 ¼”
- One piece of Designer Series Paper, 4 ¼” x 4 ¼”
- Circle Framelits Collection from Stampin’ Up (or other circle cutting tools)
- Circle Punches (I used 1 ¼” and 1 3/8”)
- One brad
- Stamps and Ink, extra cardstock to decorate
Choose one piece of colored cardstock for your card base, and set that aside. Using your Circle Framelits (or other circle cutting tools), cut the other piece of colored cardstock into the largest circle that will still fit on your base. I used the biggest non-scallop circle in the Framelits pack. Next, using the next smaller circle, cut the pieces of Designer Series Paper and Whisper White Cardstock into circles as well.
Punch a 1 ¼” circle in the side of the designer series paper. Using a paper piercer and your brad, loosely attach the designer series paper to the Whisper White circle. (You will be taking this apart again very shortly.)
Turn the designer series paper piece around on the white, lightly tracing circles with a pencil through the opening. This will give you a guideline of where to stamp your images.
Separate the two circles, and stamp your images around the edges of the white circle. When the ink is dry, erase your pencil lines.
Adhere your designer series paper circle to the cardstock circle. Using your first opening as a guide, punch through the cardstock as well. If you wish, create a decorative frame for the opening with your punches.
Using the brad holes you already created, pierce through the top layer, and attach the circles together.
Put adhesive ONLY on the back of the Whisper White circle, and attach to your square card base. Your top circle should spin freely, with your images showing through the circle.
Finish the card by decorating the front as desired. (Note: If you start with a base that is 4 ¼” x 8 ½”, you can fold that in half, adhere the circle to the front, and still have a card that opens.)
