Happy Birthday Dr. King

Days like today make me so proud of my country. I have the pleasure of watching President Obama being sworn in for his second term while we all take the day off to honor the memory and the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. What a fabulous day, and how very far we have come, from the Emancipation Proclamation 150 years ago, and the March on Washington 50 years ago. It fills me with so much hope for the future.
In honor of this special day, I have a guest project, from one of my favorite stampers. One of the fourth grade projects this year was to create a birthday card for Dr. King. It had to include several things — a hand-drawn picture of Dr. King, the words, “Happy ___th Birthday, Dr. King” with the correct number, and a letter about his accomplishments. Other than that, it was up to the students to create. Eve chose to make a 3D cascading card.
Stamps: Memorable Moments
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Whisper White, Brights Patterns Designer Series Paper Pack
Other: Labels Collection Framelits, Cupcake Punch, Bitty Banners Framelits
There is a pocket on the back of the card for Eve’s letter. Didn’t she do a fabulous job?

Awesome job, Guest Stamper! You’ve got one creative girl there.
