Some sad news from Stamping 411 over the weekend — they are going to be taking an extended break, and yesterday’s sketch challenge is the last one for awhile. This was one of my favorite challenges, and I tried to play along every week. I certainly understand their need for a break, and wish all of the Stamping 411 Operators the very best. Thank you all for your hard work over the years, I have a learned a great deal. I’ll be here waiting if the challenges come back! In the meantime, here is this week’s sketch:

I know that we’ve only had one week of school so far, but it is never too early to think your children’s teachers! (And their librarians. Don’t forget the librarians.) I used the super cute new Storytime Designer Series Paper to make this quick and easy thank you card.
Stamps: Four Frames, A Word for You
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Midnight Muse
Paper: Midnight Muse, Whisper White, Storytime Designer Series Paper
Other: Designer Label Punch, Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon
Like that ribbon? That’s one of the rolls you can get free from Stampin’ Up this month!

Wonderful card Yapha. And perhaps a gentle reminder that cursive as a skill is still worth teaching even in these days of iPads and other technical devices. I had to smile when I saw your title and the card because so many schools have now dropped cursive from the curriculum.
Love you card Yapha! The colors are pretty together and this is such a sweet card for a teacher (of any subject). I love how you used the thanks stamp in cursive to match as well. Great little detail!
I’ve just been hearing about cursive being dropped as Jean stated and that saddens me. Our district isn’t there yet and I hope my kids get the chance to learn it. If they don’t, I’ll make sure to teach them myself.
Hope your Monday is happy! Enjoy the holiday.
Hi Yapha! Thanks so much for your kind words and for playing along this week! Your card is absolutely gorgeous! I love the idea of making little notes for school.
Thanks for playing along with us this week! We’re going to miss the challenges, too, but appreciate your understanding!
ps. LOVE your card!
My oldest learned cursive last year and LOVES it. I hadn’t looked close enough at the paper pack to see this print. So cute. And I love what you did with it. Perfect for a teacher.
Very cool card! Love it when the DSP does all the work.
Drop cursive? What the hey?! It is such a beautiful way to write and much faster than printing. And how will they know how to read the things we write to them?!
OK, enough about cursive. This a wonderful card, and I would NEVER forget the librarian!
