Kit Kat Cake

Posted by on June 24, 2012

I know that Father’s Day was last weekend, but I have to show you the cake I made! (I promise there is stamping involved.) A while back, Eve & I found this amazing cake on Pinterest. I had originally promised to make it for her birthday, but it was too close to Passover. It was the perfect Father’s Day cake, since both Steve and his dad love chocolate.

I wanted to make it more festive, so I used to strips of the Spice Cake fabric sewn together to make a big bow, and then used a matching pattern from the Comfort Cafe paper to make a sign. The Apothecary Accents framelits are fabulous for sign making, and I was even able to cut through a thin piece of cardboard in order to add stability.

Stamps: Delightful Dozen, Itty Bitty Bits
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pool Party
Paper: Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper
Other: Spice Cake Designer Fabric, Apothecary Accents framelits, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (circle), bamboo skewers, cardboard for stability

Want to see the inside? It was so yummy!!

There is, of course, chocolate frosting holding the M&Ms and Kit Kats on. All the chocolate lovers in the family were thrilled!
