I saw the coolest card over on Julie Kettlewell’s blog yesterday. She is a British Stampin’ Up Demonstrator, and she made this card for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebration this weekend. How cool is it that it looks like the Union Jack? Since the phrase “Keep Calm and Carry On” was originally a British World War II Poster (see below for a cool video on the origin of the poster), I thought it would be fun to use the hostess set, Carry On, with this flag.
Stamps: Carry On
Ink: Real Red, Midnight Muse
Paper: Midnight Muse, Real Red, Whisper White
I left out the scallops that Julie used, because I didn’t think they went with the clean lines of the stamp set. There is a fascinating story behind the re-emergence of the Keep Calm and Carry On poster that you can see in this YouTube Video:
There are also a ton of hilarious take-offs that you can see on Pinterest!
