I sent an email out to some of my friends at work this week, letting them know that I had some Valentines for sale. I also mentioned that I was happy to do custom orders as well. One of the fifth grade teachers asked me if I could make a Bruce Springsteen valentine for her husband who is a HUGE fan of The Boss. I only hesitated a moment before saying, “Sure!”
I knew that I wanted to use a picture of Bruce, so I figured a hybrid card using My Digital Studio would be my best bet. I used Google Images, and found this great picture with a lot of black on the side. It looked to me like the perfect place to quote some Valentine-y lyrics, so I started looking for some. Not so easy to find in Springsteen’s songs! Then I opened up My Digital Studio, and created a 4″ square photo box. I placed the picture in that, and the text in Real Red on top. I printed that out and used it as the main part of the 4 1/4″ square easel card. I added some popped up glimmer hearts for extra dimension, and finished the card.
Here’s a view from the side, where you can see how it stands up:
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black, Red Glimmer Paper
Other: Real Red 1/8″ Taffeta, Small Heart Punch, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, My Digital Studio
I was super excited with how it turned out, and so was Cassy. I can’t wait to hear what her husband thought of it!
