What do you do if you need to make some Hanukkah cards, but you don’t want to buy a stamp set that is only for Hanukkah? Luckily, there are some Hanukkah images and sayings in some of the other stamp sets! The 3″ x 3″ card below (also made for a Stampin’ Addicts swap) uses the menorah found in Every Little Bit and the “Happy Hanukkah” from Delightful Dozen.

Stamps: Every Little Bit, Delightful Dozen
Ink: Island Indigo, Pool Party
Paper: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Whisper White
Other: Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Island indigo Ruffled Ribbon, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Big Shot

Aren’t those two In Colors great together? Love them!!

When I create my Rosh Hashanah cards, I always try to use a shade of red to represent apples and a shade of gold to represent honey. Now that Stampin’ Up has Cherry Cobbler embossing powder, I knew I had to use it for a Rosh Hashanah card! I combined it with Brushed Gold cardstock to make this gorgeous card.

Stamps: Shalom
Ink: VersaMark
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Brushed Gold
Other: Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Champagne Shimmer Paint, Finial Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Big Shot

I sprayed the Very Vanilla piece with homemade shimmer mist after I ran it through the Big Shot. I combined rubbing alcohol and a few drops of Champagne Shimmer Paint in a small spray bottle and sprayed it on to add a gold sheen to the vanilla piece. You can see it a little in the picture (click to enlarge), but it is really lovely in real life.

One of my favorite things to do with the Matchbox Die is to fill it with chocolate! And now that we have these fabulous wrapper stamps, it’s even easier! I made this little box of chocolates for Steve, a fun addition to his birthday cards.

Stamps: Word Play, It’s a Wrap Occasions
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Real Red
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Whisper White, Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper
Other: Matchbox Bigz XL Die, Big Shot, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, mailing labels

There are two versions of the label stamps available – It’s a Wrap Occasions and It’s a Wrap Holidays. They are so much fun!

Today is my husband’s birthday, and as you may remember from past cards that I have made for him, woodworking is his passion. I was super excited to see the new Tool Shed background stamp in the big Idea Book & Catalog, with its images of retro tools. I bought it to make cards for Steve, and was super excited to use it for the first time on this birthday card. I really wanted to use my new Simply Scored scoring board, so I made a gate-fold card.

Stamps: Tool Shed, Wood Grain, Upsy Daisy
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Island Indigo
Paper: Island Indigo, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Other: Simply Scored, Decorative Label Punch, Square Lattice Textured Impression Embossing Folder, Big Shot

Wondering how I got the layers on the Decorative Label Punch? I punched out two extras of each color to make the mats. I cut one lengthwise, and one width-wise, and then glued them to the back so a bit of the edge showed.

I made some Hanukkah cards for the Stampin’ Addicts Holiday Wow Swap. Some of them are more elegant, and some are bright and fun, like this one. It uses the Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight paper from the Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper. I think it is just perfect for a Hanukkah card!

Stamps: Shalom Sayings
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Big Top Birthday DSP
Other: Tempting Turquoise 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, 2 1/2″ Circle Punch, 3″ Circle Bigz Die, Scallop Circle #2 Bigz Die, Basic Rhinestones

This is such a classic card — substitute a cupcake instead of the Menorah, and you have a fabulous birthday card!

I really love the way the Shalom stamp looks embossed in gold on Very Vanilla cardstock. It’s such a classy look! Here is another card I made with this. It is a very simple 3″x3″ card, but I just love how it came out!

Stamps: Shalom
Ink: VersaMark
Paper: Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla
Other: Gold Embossing Powder, Hemp Twine, Simply Scored

Do you see the score lines framing the image? I used my Simply Scored to create these. Since I was making several of these cards for a Stampin’ addicts swap, I used the markers so I could easily find the places I needed to score each time.

After I scored the first two lines, I turned the cardstock 90 degrees to score the other two sides.

I love the Simply Scored! It is such a fabulous tool! I find myself looking for things to score now, just so that I can use it more!

I loved this card by Laurie so much that I had to make my own! It is so fun to use the pennant set for both the actual pennants and the party hat! Isn’t this a great color combo? I just love Lucky Limeade!

Stamps: Pennant Parade, Delightful Dozen
Ink: Melon Mambo, Elegant Eggplant, Lucky Limeade
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White
Other: Pennant Punch, Bitty Punch Pack (circle), Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, 3″ Circle Bigz Die, Scallop Circle #2 Bigz Die, Big Shot

I am just amazed at the versatility of this Pennant stamp set and the matching punch! Have you seen the Christmas trees they can make? I’ll show you those a little later in the month.

Another great sketch from Stamping 411 today! As soon as I saw that circle I knew exactly what I wanted it to be!

I read on another blog (sorry, I don’t remember which one) that the 1 1/4″ circle punch fits exactly inside the Spice Cake Designer Buttons. Have you seen these buttons? They are HUGE! They are an inch and a half in diameter! So I started this card by knowing that I wanted to use one of the buttons, and built the rest around that. What do you think?

Stamps: Gently Falling, Elements of Style
Ink: Soft Suede, More Mustard
Paper: More Mustard, Soft Suede, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Spice Cake Designer Series Paper
Other: Spice Cake Designer Buttons, Rich Regal Brads (More Mustard), 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch

I made the insides of the acorns a lighter shade of Soft Suede lighter by stamping off once before stamping on the card stock. Except for the one where I forgot… Stamping off is a great way to get multiple shades from the same ink pad.

Wow! What a fabulous response to my first offering of the ruffled ribbon shares! This is what was sent out to the lucky participants, 2 yards each of Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, and Wisteria Wonder.

If you wanted all 5 of these rolls of ribbon, it would cost you $49.75 plus shipping and tax. Instead, you can get 2 yards of each color for $13.65 including shipping to you! Just send me an email if you are interested in participating. Sorry, US only.
