Welcome to the Builder Wheel stop on the Stampin’ Addicts Summer Mini Catalog Blog Hop! You may have just come from Tanya’s blog (Aren’t her projects stinkin’ cute? I love that set!) or you may be starting here. Either way, the blogs will link you all the way around in a circle.
Builder wheels provide so many options. You can use one, two, or three of them at a time. You must use them with special builder wheel spindle, which includes spacers, and fits in the handle of a jumbo wheel. There are three new builder wheels in the Summer Mini catalog.
My first project is a quick and easy teacher thank you note. I inked up two sections of an uninked triple cartridge with Garden Green and Real Red. It really does not take that much reinker to fill the cartridge.
Stamps: For Teacher Builder Wheel, Elementary Alphabet Builder Wheel, Family Phrases
Ink: Real Red, Garden Green
Paper: Real Red, Garden Green, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Other: Real Red 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Ribbon Border Punch
This second project popped in to my mind when I first saw the crayon wheel. I knew I wanted to make a rainbow of crayons, and the saying from Word Play is just perfect with it!
Stamps: School Colors Builder Wheel, Word Play
Ink: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Night of Navy, Elegant Eggplant
Paper: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Other: Ticket Corner Punch, Real Red 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon
My third project is a Rosh Hashanah card. You know me — I see apples, I think of Rosh Hashanah! I used the builder wheel to create the background of this one. In order to get the Hebrew words “Shana Tova” on the bee hive, I used a baby wipe to carefully remove the ink from the “Hive Sweet Hive” saying before stamping it down, then wrote in the Hebrew afterward.
Stamps: For Teacher Builder Wheel, Just Buzzin’ By
Ink: Real Red, StazOn Jet Black
Paper: More Mustard, Real Red, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Other: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Aqua Painter, Ticket corner Punch, More Mustard Brads
My final project I have to show you today is an 8×8 scrapbook page. I can’t remember the last time that I actually made a physical scrapbook page out of paper! Wheels are so great for this! I added some Pacific Point to the third section of my uninked cartridge, and this was ready to go!
Stamps: For Teacher Builder Wheel, Elementary Alphabet Builder Wheel, School Colors Builder Wheel
Ink: Real Red, Garden Green, Pacific Point
Paper: Pacific Point, Real Red, Garden Green, Whisper White
Other: Real Red 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon
Like those beveled corners? Stop back on Monday for a photo tutorial on how I made them. The journaling is printed on the computer.
