This week’s ColourQ challenge has some nice bright colors:

I really like these colors. They are such bright and vibrant kid friendly colors! I wanted to use a picture of my daughter and my nephew, but I couldn’t find one that matched the colors. So I did the next  best thing. I took a picture that I really liked, and made it black and white to match! Here’s what I came up with:

Supplies: Stampin Up’s My Digital Studio with additional digital downloads including Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper,  Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper, Blueberry Crisp Designer Series Paper. Sweet Stitches Designer Buttons, Regal Buttons

Be sure to check back tomorrow to see the latest digital downloads!

I seem to have run out of time to show you the rest of my Valentine projects, since today is Valentine’s Day, so I’m just going to post the last three items here. First is the Valentine that Eve made for all of her classmates. This was a family effort again this year, with everybody but the dogs lending a hand. I am really proud of her for wanting to make her own again, and for coloring in all 44 bears herself! Here is the finished product. (I couldn’t take a group shot of all 44, because the last stop on our assembly line was stuffing the envelopes. This is a 3″x 3″ card. The little envelope is stamped on Pretty in Pink card stock, cut out, and popped up on a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Stamps: Beary Best Friends
Ink: StazOn Jet Black
Paper: Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Other: Watercolor Pencils, Stampin’ Dimensionals

The next project I want to show you is the Valentine that I made for each of the second grade teachers. I used Tanya’s amazing book box, with great instructions! It was perfect for me, as a librarian, to give out, and since it uses the Matchbox Die, it holds four Hershey Nuggets. The below picture shows it tied shut, the front cover without the bow, and what the inside looks like.

Stamps: Valentine Defined, Language of Love Wheel
Ink: Basic Grey, Real Red, Blushing Bride
Paper: Basic Grey, Whisper White, Love Impressions Designer Series Paper, Glimmer Paper
Other: Matchbox Bigz XL Die, Big Shot, Blushing Bride Ribbon, Full Heart Punch, Hershey Nuggets

I have a regular group of friends that I eat lunch with at work each day, and when I saw these amazing little nugget purses on Krystal’s Sunday round-up, I thought they would be a really fun Valentine treat to hand out. They are so cute! They would make great baby or wedding shower favors. Each one holds a Hershey Nugget inside. It’s a little hard to see because of the flash, but that is  little rhinestone on top of each heart.

Paper: Real Red, Love Impressions Designer Series Paper
Other: Real Red 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, Small Heart Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Glue Dots

Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you had a good one! I’ll be back tomorrow with some bold colors for the ColourQ challenge!

I wanted to show you a super cute Valentine that my downline Samantha made with the after-school kids’ club this week. (I taught it last semester, she’s teaching it this semester.) The wheel was a little tricky for them, but they got the hang of it.

Stamps: Love You Much, Language of Love Wheel
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Rich Razzleberry, Pretty in Pink
Paper: Basic Black, Pretty in Pink
Other: Pinking Hearts Border Punch

Aren’t those little hearts on the punch just perfect for this card? Thanks, Sam, for letting me share this!

Whoo-hoo, it’s Friday! And as a special treat, I have three videos for you today. Stampin’ Up created these videos, which show you some of the great products available for FREE during Sale-a-Bration. Yes, free!

One of the Sale-a-Bration freebies I was looking forward to getting was the Decor Elements “Notes” chalkboard. I really wanted to put it on the back of our front door, to jot down things I needed to remember in the morning. But the door has panels, and they weren’t quite wide enough. There was however, a hook on the back of the door from the previous owners, so I thought, “Hey! I could hang it on the back of the door!”  So I searched all over the house for a piece of cardboard that I could mount it on. After about 20 minutes, I realized that the Notes chalkboard came packaged with a piece of cardboard!! Here is what comes in the package. The chalkboard piece and the white parts are separate:

So I applied the chalkboard piece to the cardboard and trimmed around it. Then I applied the white layer. I used my crop-a-dile to make two holes, and set in two of the pewter jumbo eyelets. Then I ran a piece of Poppy Parade ribbon through the holes to hang it up.

And here it is in use!

I’m really pleased with how it turned out, and I like the fact that it is removable.

It’s my week on the ColourQ design team again! Here are the colors for this week. Lots of pinks!

I scanned through the last few years of pictures that I have on my computer, and I thought that this one went the best with it. Eve was four and a half in this picture, and Biscuit had just turned three. I think I need to frame this scrapbook page and put it up. Just look at those faces!

If you are wondering how I made it look like the Framed Tulips embossing folder, it turns out that stamp brush has been a part of the Vintage Overlays Digital Stamp Set the whole time! It is #13. I made it look embossed by changing the color to match the background, then adding a drop shadow at 75%. Thanks to Alesha Walls for posting the instructions on MyDigitalStudio.net.

I was looking for more reasons to use the Build a Blossom stamp set and the matching Blossom Punch, when I saw this week’s Curtain Call Color Challenge. What perfect colors for another flower creation!

I used the same layout as this gorgeous card by Laurie Z. The Wild Wasabi looks a little dark in the photo, but Wow! These colors are fantastic together! You may be wondering the best way to use this punch without wasting paper. To make the large petals, I stamped the image on a strip of card stock that was 2 1/4″ wide, then punched out the petals starting from the left. For the small petal, I punched the petals out of a 1 1/4″ inch wide strip of card stock first, starting from the right. Then I stamped the image on them, which was easy to do since I am using the Clear Mount version of the stamps.

Stamps: Build a Blossom, A Word for You
Ink: Melon Mambo
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi
Other: Blossom Petals Punch, White Satin Ribbon, Framed Tulips Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Subtles Glimmer Brads (Wild Wasabi), Big Shot

Be sure to come back tomorrow for my take on the ColourQ challenge.

A friend and fellow stamper has been pretty sick for a while, so I wanted to make her a card to let her know that I’m thinking about her. I decided to combine this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge with the Stamping 411 sketch challenge.

I also wanted to play with my new Watercolor Wonder Crayons (see Friday’s post if you missed them), so I used the fabulous line image set, Morning Cup.I used Stampin’ Up’s high quality watercolor paper with it. They work like a dream!

Stamps: Morning Cup
Ink: StazOn Jet Black
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Riding Hood Red, Watercolor Paper, Subtles Prints Designer Series Paper Pack
Other: Watercolor Wonder Crayons (Rich Razzleberry, Riding Hood Red, Certainly Celery), Aqua Painter, Curly Label Punch

I love the tall stack of cups! I saw this idea on a few other cards. The actual stamp has 4 cups stacked, but with the Clear Mount stamps, it is easy to create the tower of cups.
