Hello and welcome to another Stampin’ Addicts Blog Hop! We are showcase some of the fabulous new items available in Stampin’ Up’s! Summer Mini Catalog. There are a wide variety of exciting new stamps and other products. You may have just arrived from Allison Ohran’s blog, where she showed you some of the new Builder Wheels. (If you are starting here, that’s okay too, the whole hop goes in a circle!) I am excited to show you the other three builder wheels, which are birthday themed.

The builder wheels are a really neat new concept. So far, there are six available wheels. Each wheel measures approximately 2/3 of an inch wide. There is a special spindle for the wheels that comes with spacers, allowing you to place one, two, or three of the builder wheels in one of the Stampin’ Around Jumbo Wheel handles and create your own designs. You can also purchase an uninked triple cell cartridge to create your own ink cartridge and have each of the builder wheels use a different color of ink in one swoop across the card stock! It is a fantastic concept, and I am so excited to play with these designs! Today I will be showing you four different projects that I made using the Candle Crazy, Birthday, and So Many Stars Builder Wheels.

My first project is a card that I created for a Stampin’ Addicts swap. I filled the uninked cartridge with Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay to easily make a dozen of these. The phrase “Happy Birthday” measures five inches long, just right for a card front! I used my Two-Way glue pen to add some Dazzling Diamonds to the front for extra sparkle!

Stamps: Candle Crazy Builder Wheel, Birthday Builder Wheel, So Many Stars Builder Wheel
Ink: Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay
Paper: Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Crushed Curry Designer Prints Series Paper
Other: Scallop Border Punch, Two-Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

For my second project I created a card with a matching mini milk carton. I didn’t want to use the stars on this project, so I used each of the Builder Wheels separately to create this. I think I may have to buy an extra of the candles wheel, because I really like how it looks surrounding the Happy Birthday. Just another way this is such a flexible product! (You can click on the photo for a closer look.)

Stamps: Candle Crazy Builder Wheel, Birthday Builder Wheel
Ink: Summer Sun, Brilliant Blue, Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Summer Sun, Brilliant Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
Other: Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Mini Milk Carton Bigz L Die, Big Shot

Now we do have a fabulous Fourth of July Stamp Set and Patriotic Jumbo Wheel in this mini catalog, however as I was looking at the So Many Stars Builder Wheel, I realized that it would make a fantastic Patriotic card! Here is what I came up with:

Stamps: So Many Stars Builder Wheel
Ink: Night of Navy
Paper: Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White, Brushed Silver
Other: Large Star Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals

My final project is actually the first thing I thought of doing — I just saw all of those candles and immediately thought  HANUKKAH! I know it’s not the right time of year, but I had to try one anyone. The ribbon is white satin, even though it looks like something else in the picture. The phrase “Happy Hanukkah” is from the Chit Chat Rub-Ons which have a huge variety of phrases in both white and Chocolate Chip.

Stamps: Candle Crazy Builder Wheel
Ink: VersaMark
Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Kraft, Brushed Gold
Other: Gold Embossing Powder, Gold Brads, White Satin Ribbon, Modern Label Punch, Punch Windows Movers & Shapers Die, Big Shot

I hope you enjoyed this stop on the Stampin’ Addicts Summer Mini Catalog Blog Hop. Next up is Carmen, who will be showing you the super yummy Sweet Scoops stamp set.

Okay Mom, this one is for you, so if you are reading it, STOP NOW. Look away!!!

For everyone else, this is the Mother’s Day card I am making my mom (who better not still be reading this!) I made a similar card last year, though this year I found a different set of instructions from Amy Celona. My mom loves Yo-Yo Yellow. It is her all-time favorite color, so I made that my main color. (Wait until you see her birthday card!) I’m going to be sure to stock up on it, since it is one of the colors that will be retiring at the end of June. I used the 5 petal flower punch to make the leaves.

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Garden Green
Paper: Yo-Yo Yellow, Garden Green, Really Rust, Whisper White
Other: Pinking Hearts Border Punch, 5 Petal Flower Punch, Simple Flower Embosslit, Circle Fire Rhinestone Brads, Large Oval Punch, Scalloped Oval Punch, White Satin Ribbon

It looks great like that, but the flowered piece pulls out to reveal a note card for writing on! How fun is that?

Be sure to stop back tomorrow for the Stampin’ Addicts Summer Mini Catalog Blog Hop. You’ll get to see some amazing projects featuring the new items in the Summer Mini Catalog that starts May 1st!

This is another card we made last week after school. I have to tell you the combination of the embossing folders and vellum card stock just makes for an unbelievable card. It looks so tricky, but in reality is easy! These cards werre popular this time last year. I think the first one I saw like this was on Gretchen Barron’s blog. I made this one into a birthday card, but it could just as easily be a Mother’s Day card if you switch the sentiment.

Stamps: Whimsical Words
Ink: StazOn Jet Black
Paper: Orchid Opulence, Vellum Card Stock
Other: Manhattan Flowers Textured Embossing Folders, White Satin Ribbon, Big Shot

Important note — make sure to use the Vellum Card Stock and not the Vellum Paper. The paper will tear from the force of the embossing folder.

This is another card that I made with my faculty after-school card-making group. It uses Awash with Flowers, a wonderful two-step stamp that is available for a sneak peek this month, and then won’t be available again until the new catalog starts in July. All of the stampers last Thursday were so thrilled with how easy it was to use in the clear mount version. If you stamp the outsides first, it is very easy to line up the insides on the acrylic blocks.

Stamps: Awash with Flowers, Well Scripted
Ink: StazOn Black, Taken with Teal, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Always Artichoke
Paper: Regal Rose, Taken with Teal, Whisper White
Other: Regal Rose 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon, Top Note Bigz Die, Big Shot

I just love this set. It makes it so easy to make gorgeous cards!

Here’s another one of the designs I used for the library thank you notes. Can you tell how much I love this little bookworm? I was super excited to see how nicely he fit into the Scalloped Square Punch!

Stamps: First Day, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Taken with Teal
Paper: So Saffron, Taken with Teal, Chocolate Chip, Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Pad
Other: Scallop Square Punch

Eventually I’ll get around to using the other stamps in the set. Right now I’m just enjoying the bookworm!

Here’s a beautiful yet easy to make card that I made with my Faculty card making class after school last week. It uses the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set that is on sale for 20% off until the end of April (which is Friday!)

Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, Warm Words
Ink: Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede
Paper: Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Other: Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Soft Suede Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon (reversed)

It would be very easy to turn this into a Mother’s Day Card — the “Happy Mother’s Day” saying from Teeny Tiny Wishes fits into that oval as well. You could use that instead of the happiness stamp.

I just love most of the Stamping 411 Sketch challenges. They are clean, easy-to-follow, and esthetically pleasing. Plus, they usually give you measurements! This week’s was no exception.

As soon as I saw it (around 1:00 this morning when I was up with the puppy), I knew that it would be perfect for one of the library thank you notes I was making. Here’s what I came up with:

Stamps: First Day
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, Old Olive
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, Whisper White, Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper
Other: Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon (reversed)

First Day is one of the  new stamp sets available in Stampin’ Up’s upcoming Summer Mini Catalog. Want to see more? Stampin’ Addicts Summer Mini Blog Hop starts this Friday, chock full of great projects and ideas!

Here’s another card I made with the super cute alien set called Greetings, Earthling. You can see the first one here. I think this one may be my favorite alien of the bunch!

Stamps: Greetings, Earthlings
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Taken with Teal
Paper: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Taken with Teal, Whisper White, Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Pad

By the way, if you like the Sweet Pea Designer Series, don’t forget that it is only available until April 30. Be sure to get some while you can!

Below is the project of the month from Stampin’ Up. It uses the Greenhouse Garden stamp set, which is one of the set on sale for 20% off this month. If you are a gardener, or need to make a gift for a gardener, how cute would this little journal be to keep track of all of the plant info?

Stamps: Greenhouse Garden, Hope Happens
Paper:
Chocolate Chip card stock, Confetti White card stock, Old Olive textured card stock, On Board 5″ x 5″ Art Journal
Ink:
Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin’ Pad, Crushed Curry Classic Stampin’ Pad, Old Olive Classic Stampin’ Pad, Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin’ Pad, Regal Rose Classic Stampin’ Pad

I am so excited to welcome a new demonstrator to my team! Samantha is a fantastic stamper and a great person, and is on her way to becoming a wonderful Stampin’ Up demonstrator.  Since she enjoys digital scrapbooking in addition to hands-on paper crafting, she chose to sign up with the Digital+ Starter Kit. This starter kit contains a mix of both digital and actual products.  In addition, she received two free DVDs with over four hours of stampin’ technique instructions on them!

Samantha was kind enough to let me share with you one of the projects she created with My Digital Studio. This is the “Save the Date” card for her upcoming wedding.

(Some information removed for privacy reasons.) Isn’t it great? So beautiful! And she was able to choose exactly the colors she wanted to go with her wedding! I am so happy that Samantha decided to sign up. I hope you will join me in wishing her a long and successful career as a Stampin’ Up demonstrator!
