Archive for January, 2010

One of the most amazing things that has happened to me in my three years as a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator is the fabulous friendships I have formed and the amazing connections with people all over the country. I feel very fortunate to be a part of a wonderful group of women at Stampin’ Addicts. It was fantastic to meet many if them in person here at the Leadership Conference.

Today’s pictures are of people. The first picture is of me with my three roommates, who I have known online for awhile, but had never met in person.

The second picture is with my up-up-up-upline, Margaret, and her daughter Kelli, my up-up-upline. They are warm, wonderful woman and I am proud to be part of their downline.

The final picture is of me with Shelli Gardner, co-founder and CEO of Stampin’ Up. I was so excited that I actually got to meet her in person!

One of the best parts of our first day of Leadership was doing the Make and Takes! We each received the With All My Heart stamp set and were given packets and instructions to create two cards, a tag, a scrapbook page, and a mini milk carton. Below are pictures of our projects (except for the milk carton, because I’ll make that at home so it doesn’t get crushed) as well as a picture of our table.

Whoo-hoo! I am about to head out the door to the airport. I’m on my way to Phoenix for Stampin’ Up’s Leadership Conference and I am super excited! It’s my first time going and I can’t wait! I’ll do my best to post regularly from there, with newss and pictures, so check back here often. I will also be tweeting, if you would like to follow me on Twitter as well. There are quite a few of us from Stampin’ Addicts who will be there, so you can check there for more info!

One quick project for today. This is one of the swapos I am bringing with to Leadership. I used the new clear mount stamps to create this, and it made stamp placement a breeze! I masked the heart in the middle to create the illusion of it being in front.

Stamps: I {heart} Hearts
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celerly, Lovely Lilac, Apricot Appeal
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip. Whisper White
Other: Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Pretty in Pink 5/8″ Satin Ribbon

A big thanks to my Mom for letting me spread these out all over her dining room table as I worked on them, and to my Dad for letting me use his giant Pediactric textbook to weigh them down and make sure the adhesive stuck to all of those little polka dots!

It’s here! It’s here! January 5th is here and with it brings all sorts of new goodies! I know you don’t want to listen to me blather on and on, so here are the links that you have been waiting for!

Occasions Mini Catalog! Starts today and goes through April 30th. The big exciting news in this mini catalog is the new option of Clear-Mount stamps. These are not clear stamps, but rather the deeply etched red rubber that you expect from Stampin’ Up, but designed to be used on clear acrylic blocks. Please see my video tutorial on using these stamps for more info.

Sale-a-Bration starts today as well! It is every stampers favorite time of year! For every $50 that you spend, you can pick one free item from the  Sale-a-Bration catalog. For the first time ever, this includes stamps priced at $15.95 or less from the main catalog as well! If you host a workshop of $300 or more, then you can choose an additional set! There is a fabulous paper pack and an amazing punch in there as well!

As if that weren’t enough, there are new Definitely Decorative items as well! These include some amazing chalkboard Decor Elements! We’re thinking about putting up some extra walls just to have room to put up all of this great stuff! You can view the new Definitely Decorative insert here. But wait, there’s more!

You loved them when they were circles, you’ll love them even more as hearts! Yep, there is a new Treat Cup in town, and it is heart-shaped, just in time for Valentine’s Day! The new Heart Treat Cups coordinate perfectly with the Sweetheart stamp set and the Full Heart punch. Download the Heart Treat Cup flyer for more information.

Still want more? I have one last special to share with you! Stampin’ Up! has partnered with Country Living magazine to bring you the Cards à la Carte stationery kit. This exclusive kit  includes the following products:

Phew! Well that’s all of the news for today! Please let me know if you have any questions, or start shopping now!

Alright, here they are, the last three months of the calendar I made for my parents. I know you’ve been anxiously waiting to see them, so I thought I’d put all three months in at once, instead of making you wait until tomorrow to see December. I’m considerate like that!

October has to be Halloween right? What else could it be?

For November, I used the quintessential “olives on the fingers” picture. Everyone has one like that from Thanksgiving, right? Is there another way to eat black olives?

For December I used pictures taken this week while we have been here visiting. It was fun to turn them into a scrapbook page so quickly. Makes me want to scrapbook life as I go along. What a crazy idea that is!

I hope you enjoyed looking at the calendar! Just a reminder that today is the last day to order from the Holiday Mini Catalog. The Build-a-Bear items, My Digital Studio, and the Shimmer Paint will continue to be available, but everything else is gone! Make wise choices!

Welcome to another Stampin’ Addicts Blog Hop! This one features new stamp sets, paper, and other items from the Occasions Mini Catalog. They will be available to order beginning January 5th. You may have just arrived from Melissa’s Blog, featuring Little Angel. If you are starting out here, don’t worry, all of the blogs will link you in one big circle!

As soon as I saw this new mini catalog, I knew exactly what set I had to get! I have been collecting nesting dolls for years (though I’ve been collecting a lot more stamps, lately) and as soon as I saw the set My Matryoshka, I just had to have it! It is a fabulous set of four stamps, as you can see below.

One of the names for this type of doll means “Little Mother” when translated from Russian, and I figured, what better to make out of this set than a Mother’s Day Card? I used some of the new paper coming in this catalog on this as well.

Stamps: My Matryoshka, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: StazOn Black, Rose Red
Paper: Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, Natural White, Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack
Other: Rose Red 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Aqua Painter, Word Window Punch, Designer Label Punch

For this next item, I have to give credit to Eve for the idea. Actually, we both had the thought independently. What if we cut apart the stamped image to look like the actual doll was being opened? I thought this would be even more fun to use on one of the super cute new mini milk cartons! I’m not sure if you can tell, but the top doll layer is raised on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamps: My Matryoshka
Ink: StazOn Black, Real Red, Yo-Yo Yellow, Gable Green
Paper: Real Red, Whisper White
Other: Mini Milk Carton, Bigz L Die, Big Shot, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Aqua Painter

The final item I have to show you today is an all-purpose card. The beautiful dry embossing of the background piece delicately complements the nesting dolls themselves.

Stamps: My Matryoshka
Ink: StazOn Black
Paper: Old Olive, So Saffron, Natural White, Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack
Other: Old Olive 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Aqua Painter, Finial Press Embossing Folder, Big Shot

I hope that you have enjoyed this look at My Matryoshka. Your next stop on this blog hop is over to Deb’s Heartfelt Inkspiration, where she will be showing you some great ideas with the new Chocolate Bunny stamp. My favorite is her last card!
