Here’s another card that we made at Paula’s workshop last week. She let me know how much she loved green, so I came up with this card, using plenty of Old Olive. It also uses the Botanical Blooms stamp set, which is only availble for two more weeks! You can get it free with any $50 order! (We’ll be making this card at Lisa’s workshop on Thursday as well.)

cimg7542Stamps: Botanical Blooms
Ink: Rose Red, Old Olive, Basic Black
Paper: Rose Red, Old Olive, Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories: Rose Red 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, Chit Chat Rub-Ons, Stampin’ Up Texturz Backgrounds 1

I don’t think you can tell from the picture, but the Old Olive piece is embossed with the swirly design from the Texturz plate. I used the Chit-Chat rub ons for the sentiment since that was easier than stamping on the texture.

Only two more weeks of Sale-a-Bration! Don’t miss out on getting your free goodies!

I love Stampin’ Up’s line of Decor Elements. They are beautiful vinyl wall art, but they are for more than just walls. I have them up on the walls, of course, mostly in Eve’s room, but also in the living room. I have some on my car. I have one on my plan book at work. I’ve put them on vases. (We’ll be putting the big tree up in the library after spring break! Watch for pictures of that!)

Here is a great little video with Stampin’ Up’s Jaron Winder showing how he used  Decor Elements on a shower curtain! So fun!

Since I don’t celebrate Easter, I don’t have any Easter stamp sets. So how, I wondered, could I make Easter cards for my friends who celebrate? Why by relying on punches, of course! (And thank goodness for the All Holidays stamp set that has the phrase “Easter Wishes” in it.)

I saw this super cute Easter card on Jackie Topa’s blog, and realized that she used the wide oval bunch on the Delicate Dots Sale-a-Bration paper to make the eggs. Hey, I thought, I have both of those! I can make Easter Eggs too! And so I did. We made this card at a workshop in Ashby this week, and will be making it in Santa Monica next week.

Ah, St. Patrick’s Day! Whether you are Irish or not, you have to love St. Patrick’s and all of its accompanying green goodies. Here is my St. Patrick’s day version of the decorated pepermint patties, as previously seen for Hanukkah and Valentine’s Day. (I think this basic combo can be made for any occasion!)

cimg7534Here’s a close up of the patties. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to use the glitter or not, so I did one with and one without.

Wow, Kristina Werner’s color challenge is a tough one today! These are the colors:

My first thought was penguins. Then zebras. But I decided that I’d rather go with classy then goofy. Because really, these colors together are so, so classy. And they were perfect for something I’d been meaning to try, which is matching up two sides of the eyelet border punch. It was a little tricky, but I managed to do it pretty well I think.

Why the C? Well, unfortunately the M is just a hair too wide to look good in the circle. So I thought about people I knew who were classy, and would send a classy card. And I thought of someone. And her last name starts with C. Which is perfect, because C is for classy.

One of the French teachers at school saw my scalloped circle Sock Monkey card, and wanted a Sock Monkey card to give another French teacher who used to have a monkey when he was a boy. So I wanted to make a non-cutesy, non-kid-like, but still nice Sock Monkey card. This is what I came up with, a clean and simple Sock Monkey card. I used the paper from the Candy Lane pack, but cut it so that there was no Pink Pirouette stripe.

I have made many, many wonderful friends through Stampin’ Up. Friends I stamped with back in LA and friends I stamp with here in Massachusetts. Other demonstrators that I have been lucky enough to meet in person and some that I only know from message boards online. It truly is the friendships that make stamping as special as it is to me. So for all of you, my stamping friends, where ever you may be, this card is for you.

mojo77sketchI thought today’s Mojo Monday sketch was the perfect time to use some of the flowers that I die cut last month over at Beth’s house. And I definitely needed bright colors, because believe it or not it snowed all day today! I am so ready for spring!

March 9th is my brother and sister-in-law’s sixth wedding anniversary. I used the colors from this week’s color challenge over on Splitcoast Stamper’s for the card — Kiwi Kiss, Pink Passion, and Chocolate Chip. I stamped the hearts with Polka Dot Punches and then used the coordinating Full Heart Punch to punch them out. Polka Dot Punches is one of your  Sale-a-Bration choices, free with any order of $50 or more, and only available until the end of March. I added a touch of elegance with the satin Kiwi Kiss ribbon and Bella Rose paper cut with the Top Note Die. Did you know the ribbon is double-sided? Yep! The other side is vanilla! Here is my card:

Happy Anniversary Joey and Abby! And many more!

Congratulations to Deedles! Eve picked number 18, which is your comment, to win the bookmark and stamping mystery! (See this post for more info.) Send me an email with your address if you haven’t already. Hope you enjoy the book! I can’t wait for the sequel.
