Kristina Werner’s Color Inspiration #35 was not meant to be a limited supply challenge, but for me it truly was. We are still down at my parents’ house, with no electricity in Fitchburg since Thursday night when we got pounded by the “Great Ice Storm of ’08″ as the news media is calling it. We are very fortunate to have my parents only two hours away, so we can stay here. I had some supplies with me, and luckily I had the necessary cardstock. (I do keep a complete set of Stampin’ Spots in all 48 colors here, as well as a paper cutter.) Here are the latest colors:

My challenge, however, was really with the stamps. I have Hanukkah sets with me, which was not really helpful. But I also had my Lovely Letters set, because I was working on Eve’s teachers’ gifts (if we ever have school again!). So I decided to use the Lovely Letters, and make myself a “Y” card. I’m also glad that I had the circle punches with me, as well as the Top Note pieces already cut out!

Stamps: Lovely Letters
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Very Vanilla
Ink: Baja Breeze, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron
Accessories: Top Note Bigz Die, 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch

Not too shabby for using only what I had on hand!

The craft fair in New Bedford was this past weekend. Luckily we had planned to be down here anyway, since we lost power in Fitchburg on Thursday night from the ice storm. It was a nice craft fair, but not too many people stopped by. I enjoyed talking to the women one either side of me. One had quilts, the other hand-painted kipot (yarmulkas).

I still have plenty of Hanukkah items left! Drop me a note if you want to buy any of the items that you saw here. I’ll leave you with a few pictures from the ice storm. Hopefully we’ll be back home again soon! In the meantime, I’ll be posting some older cards.
