Rubber Stamping & Card Making with Yapha

I loved how the monogrammed stationery sets came out that I made for Eve’s teachers. Unfortunately, I was not able to deliver them, since we missed the last 6 days of school due to the ice storm. They will be getting their gifts as New Year presents instead. Anyway, I decided to make one for my sister-in-law, as part of her Hanukkah gift. I used the new Candy Lane paper, from the Love You Much bundle.

Here it is with the ribbon untied. The cute birdies are the same image as in the Love You Much stamp set, only larger, and are printed directly on the Designer Series Paper.

The way the Sock Monkey holds out is hand, it just calls for something to be put in it! And what better than a beer from the Cheers to You set? I made this as a birthday card for a friend of mine who loves monkeys.It is hard to see, but I used Dazzling Diamonds on the beer foam.

I really need to use this guy more. He even has a whole set of accessories!

I love the Lovely Letters set for making monogram cards. They fit nicely into the 1 1/4″ circle punch like I used on Eve’s teacher gifts. They also fit into some of the frames in the Frames with a Flourish set. Below is the card that I made for my in-laws’ anniversary this past October.

Since we are still out of our powerless house from the ice storm, I am going to be featuring some older cards. Below is a card I made for the September Wicked challenge. It uses both the color and sketch challenges. We sent it to a friend of Eve’s for her birthday.

I love the All in the Family set. I think it just makes such cute cards!

Kristina Werner’s Color Inspiration #35 was not meant to be a limited supply challenge, but for me it truly was. We are still down at my parents’ house, with no electricity in Fitchburg since Thursday night when we got pounded by the “Great Ice Storm of ‘08″ as the news media is calling it. We are very fortunate to have my parents only two hours away, so we can stay here. I had some supplies with me, and luckily I had the necessary cardstock. (I do keep a complete set of Stampin’ Spots in all 48 colors here, as well as a paper cutter.) Here are the latest colors:

My challenge, however, was really with the stamps. I have Hanukkah sets with me, which was not really helpful. But I also had my Lovely Letters set, because I was working on Eve’s teachers’ gifts (if we ever have school again!). So I decided to use the Lovely Letters, and make myself a “Y” card. I’m also glad that I had the circle punches with me, as well as the Top Note pieces already cut out!
