Here is another item for the Hanukkah Craft Fair. This Hanukkah Card uses the menorah and Star or David from the Holiday Blitz set. I was really happy when this set came out, to see two Jewish symbols included in a set that covers so many holidays. This card uses a technique called  “Faux Metal.”  By embossing silver on the brushed silver paper, it makes it look like a metal tag. It is quick and easy and doesn’t add extra weight for mailing! (There are two different faux metal techniques. This is the easier of the two.) Again, I used a Stampin’ Write marker and the Stamp-a-ma-jig to put “Happy Hanukkah” on the bottom.

Paper: Whisper White, Brushed Silver, Night of Navy, Bashful Blue
Ink: Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, VersaMark
Accessories: Silver Embossing Powder, Silver Elastic Cord, 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, 1 3/8″ Circle Punch

I liked the layout so much that I created a non-Jewish version as well! I used the snowflake from the Season of Friendship set, but Holiday Blitz has a snowflake as well.

Now that Thanksgiving is over, I need to buckle down and get ready for the National Council of Jewish Women’s Hanukkah Craft Fair in New Bedford. I’ll be there selling a wide variety of cards and other hand-made paper crafts. The first thing I did was make a bunch of Hanukkah gift tags.  I used the same layout as Lynn Put’s Christmas tags. In order to use just the saying “Happy Hanukkah” out of the Shalom Sayings set, I used a Stampin’ Write marker to color only the words in, and then my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig for perfect placement. I love my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig!

My mom custom designs Judaic Needlepoint, and her logo has always been a dove. Not all doves look the same though, and I had never seen the right dove for her.  Imagine my excitement when I saw the dove stamp in the To You & Yours set! It was just perfect! This is a card that I made for my mom. She now has a bunch on hand (with different sentiments on them) to send out whenever she would like.

Happy Thanksgiving! As a gift to our wonderful family friends who we are not only spending the holiday with, but who are also letting the dog and hamster stay with them, I put together a fun packet of cards. I made an outside folder to hold them. (Folder design by Standi Kern. You can download the template here.)

I made eight cards, one with each of the stamps in the Pun Fun stamp set, and used the same card layout for all them, which I had used on the get well card for my father-in-law as well.

It’s that time of the week again, for Kristina Werner’s color inspiration. It was the perfect thing to do while I was waiting to see what is going to be on sale for Stampin’ Up’s Holiday Extravaganza. Here are this week’s colors:

I don’t have any Sahara Sand (I know, it’s a shocker!), so I substituted a metallic, as suggested. I used gold. Here is what I came up with. It could be a Valentine or an Anniversary card.

I made the gold edge around the die cut by coloring it with my VersaMarker pen, and then embossing it.

Hope you like it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Speaking of Bev Rousch, she made another fabulous card that I knew I had to try as soon as I saw it. Lucky for me, she even posted a fantastic video tutorial on how to make it! My mom has a very good friend/colleague who is a quilter and when my mom asked for cards to give her, I knew this would be perfect! (Since she is a rabbi and a cantor, I figured a thank you card would go over better than a Christmas card.) Here is my version of the Quilted Top Note Card:

quiltStamps: Cute & Curly
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Designer Series Patterns Pack (Hostess Level 1)
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Top Not Die, Big Shot, Curly Label Punch, Baja Breeze Striped Ribbon, Sponge Daubers

Since the card base is so dark, I cut an extra top note to put inside to make it easier to write in.

Isn’t it fabulous? I am so happy with the way it came out!

I want to share a few more fall cards with you. Ironically, I made these in Los Angeles in the middle of summer! But I think they capture the colors of fall. For this first card, I got the brilliant idea of using the leaves from Pretty Peony to make fall leaves from Bev Rousch. You can see her card here.  Pretty Peony is a fabulous two-step Stampin’ set. I definitely recommend using it with the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig for best results.
